Those German gunners really put some steel on target.
The old saying of the speed of the leader determines the speed of the team comes to mind. That the Sydney approached so close and once the fighting began the Germans fired three accurate salvos for each inaccurate salvo fired by the Sydney says something about the Sydney's captain and how he ran his ship.
