That was what settled it for me. Everyone was smiling and applauding him like a North Korean pep rally. Nobody asked the sort of chapter-and-verse questions that were asked at the congressional townhalls and when he stopped to call on the cute little kid my mind was made up.

This townhall was no different from any of his other scripted appearances. I don’t think anyone was fooled.

I wonder just how many people he convinced with his opening claims that the recession is over and his porkulus was the cause. Sure was bizarre listening to him flog the insurance companies like a latter-day Father Coughlin. I gather the insurance companies have failed to submit totally to him as yet.

Savage made a reference to the girl’s question today too, and hinted that the town halls were scripted, but I don’t think he knew the girl was an actual plant. It will be interesting to see tomorrow if he hears of it and comments on it.
