The U.S. government is prepared to provide up to $10 billion in loans to finance the development of massive hydrocarbon reserves off Brazils coast, a Brazilian official said Wednesday.
President Barack Obamas national security adviser, Gen. James Jones, discussed the matter with officials this week during a visit to the South American country, Brazilian Planning Minister Paulo Bernardo da Silva told reporters. He said the U.S. Export-Import Bank already has signed a letter of intent in that regard with Brazilian state oil company Petrobras...

Wha??? Obama promises 10 BILLION dollars for offshore oil drilling in Brazil while prohibiting it here? Got hypocricy??? Golly gee, I thought he was against it for environmental reasons, but I guess he just doesn't want us to have our own oil, preferring instead to keep us sucking at the teat of foreign sources that don't have environmental requirements as strict as ours. I wonder how his enviro-nazi supporters would feel about that, IF they ever were to find out?

Hey, what's so wrong with buying oil with cheap-ass dollars? It's something for almost(well pretty soon) nothing!
Until the suckers get wise to it.

.... could eventually lead to a nearly six-fold increase in Brazils current proven reserves of 14 billion barrels and transform that nation into one of the worlds 10 largest oil producers and a major crude exporter. What, so we can be dependent on them, too? He thinks Brazil won't screw us the first chance it gets? And we still can drill for our own off-shore oil, while the Cubans and the Russians are preparing to suck it out from under us? Everybody in the country who is watching gasoline inch up again ought to read about this little loan.

There has to be something in it for him, or else he wouldn't do it.
Notice I said "for him" not American, nor American business. You see, this is the way of politicians for the past 70 or so years. Enrich yourself at the expense of your own countryman.
Obama is simply following the same ole model, while calling it "change".

Why not invest in US companies and production??
Russia is getting ready to drill off the Florida Keys.
Why not US companies and keep the money at home??
Pelosi don’t dig it.

Yes, there is..... He is the enemy from within. How better to destroy America then to bankrupt us. This stimulus money has not created any jobs - where is this money going? He's passing money out left and right to every country but our own.

Actually the first intelligent thing he's done since, well, probably forever. Definitely his first pro-American thing since becoming U.S. Senator. Of course, isn't Brazil's prez a leftwing loon?

Only a demented, narcissistic, arrogant SOB could do this and at the same time claim that oil is a “dirty” energy source.
IDIOT!
No wonder he’s a -7.
