Harry Reid is in big trouble (he's not the only Dem senator facing grim re-election prospects)

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid may now be the most endangered incumbent Seantor running in the 2010 cycle. In a state where Barack Obama won by 12%, Reid has only 34% support for re-election, and trails a possible GOP challenger by 6%.

Connecticut Senator and Countrywide Financial favorite son Chris Dodd, also trails his likely GOP challenger, former Congressman Rob Simmons, by a similar high single digit margin.

NV Poll: Reid Would Lose to Lowden Posted by Tom Bevan | Email This | Permalink | Email Author

New poll in Nevada by Vitale & Associates (July 29-30, 510 LV, MoE +/-4.4%) shows incumbent Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid losing by six points to Sue Lowden, chairwoman of the Nevada Republican Party, 44-38, with 10% undecided.

From the Las Vegas Review-Journal write up:

Pollster Todd Vitale said the most telling numbers might be the ones related to Reid.

In three Reid-related categories -- image, approval and whether they would vote to re-elect -- respondents gave the senator a thumbs down. Just 39 percent viewed Reid favorably, and 34 percent said they would vote to re-elect him.

"All of those are very, very telling pieces of information," said Vitale, who has been a pollster for 15 years. "I've never seen an incumbent with numbers this bad who hadn't had some scandal."

I can confirm that Reid is in big trouble and Lowden can win. There’s stuff in the background brewing that can take him out.

How the Senate (and House) operate under Democrat control IS the scandal !!!

That the Republicans could never even put a dent in earmarks shows them to be only very slightly better in comparison, too.

After watching a minute or two of Specter this morning, I’d say his chances of reelection are nil to none.

Deer in the headlights, unresponsive, seemingly confused, and (of course) totally out of touch with his savvy everyday American constituents.

We have got to get these senile coots and sociopaths off of Capitol Hill.

And I mean Republicans like Grassly and Nancy-boys like Pansy Graham as well.

It's the sweetest news I've heard all day!

Now, when is "Nasty Pelousy" up for re-election?

ACORN needs to get busy rigging the polls, or their vote-rigging is going to look a little too blatant when election day comes.

The problem is he might not be the Democratic candidate for senator as he will be facing challenges from within the party. They are already calling him a turncoat.

I just hope the Quaker state will have enough sense to vote for Pat Toomey.

San Francisco will never throw Nazi Pelousey out, unless they think she’s not liberal enough. If an openly avowed commie ran against her, she might have problems.

Sadly, Stalin is dead, so there is no one to her left to challenge her.

I think it’s unlikely that we can retake the Senate in 2010. We’d need to gain 11 seats which is completely out of reach. If we have a good night we might gain 2-5 seats. Still, that would be very very nice. We would be able to put the 60 seat Rat filibuster proof majority behind us for good. Nevada, Connecticut, Colorado, and Illinois all look like possibilities.

The prospects in the house look much much better. If the Rs continue to hold a lead in the generic ballot, of a few points or more, I don’t see how they could not win back the majority.

Three others are running against Dodd: Foley,Caligiuri and Schiff.

I'd love nothing more than to see Reid and his family (all of whom are plugged into the public T*t), lose their jobs and incomes.... One has to keep in mind that the fed .gov owns about 90%of the land in that state, hence water etc. , etc.,

Unfortunately, that means to do a little bidness, one has to 'work' with that *^&^%$&*^^%!!!

2010 is setting up to be a routing for the Dems.

The Dems returned to power based on anger over horrifically bad domestic policy by Bush and the lack of that administration to frankly defend itself. For 8 years it let its opponents define them in the public mind as satan.

So dems came to power out of anger and disgust, not out of support for their agenda. Now that they are attempting to execute their agenda American’s are not in the least happy with what they are trying to do.

The Democratic party is going to be absolutely lambasted in 2010. Those Dems who wish to have long careers will see the light and vote against the crap Reid, Pelosi and Fauxbama are trying to railroad through, unless they are from the bluest of blue districts, or they will see their careers end in absolute routings.

Senator Bennet in Colorado should be vulnerable.

Boxer is threatened, why not Wyden in Oregaon and Murray in Washington.

Western Senators to be taken down in 2010:

Boxer, Wyden, Murray, Reid, Bennet, Conrad (D-ND), Lincoln (D-AR).

Can those of you east of the Mississippi give us 4 more to take away the Dems’ majority?
