Net approval for Dem Senators declining twice as fast as GOP counterparts
Hot Air ^ | August 10, 2009 | ED MORRISSEY

Barack Obama’s approval ratings have rapidly declined as more of his hard-Left agenda hits the table and the economy begins to decline, but Obama’s not the only person who has that problem. Eric Ostermeier at Smart Politics looks at polling numbers from Survey USA and finds that almost everyone in the Senate has lost ground with voters. However, net approval for Democrats has declined twice as much as Republicans:

Herb Kohl (D-WI) has seen the biggest net drop, at minus 23 points during this span.

Overall, these 25 Senators have seen their collective +24.8-point net approval rating in January fall to +14.2 points in July.

But this growing disapproval by the public toward the job its Senators are doing in Washington has not been evenly distributed between Democrats and Republicans. The Republicans have seen their net approval rating drop an average of 6.6 points from January to July, while the Democrats have seen their net approval rating drop nearly twice that amount at 12.5 points. (SurveyUSA tracks the approval rating of 8 GOP Senators and 17 Democrats).

The unfavorable ratings are peaking way too early on this for 2010.

Just wait until they run some polls following the Dem disaster of town hall meetings taking place.

American people do not like being told to shut up and not listened to.

This will resonate worst in the liberal Northeast, where New England has a long history of holding townhall meetings to conduct local government policies....

That is because the vast majority of voters has no idea how the government works

The results are skewed because the net approval for democrat senators cannot go any lower in my household.

We are all Nazis right Nancy? Is that your comeback strategery, insulting your opposition. The sum total of your intellectual argument is to equate people yelling at their Congressmen to SS death camp guards, brilliant Stretch, brlliant, keep it up. You are colossus of political craftsmanship, to be installed in the pantheon of great statesman and legislators. Harry Reid in the Senate is her soulmate, they share the same 95 IQ and talent for being abrasive and annoying. Micheal Steele thought he had issues, man the Dem party is walking the plank.

The unfavorable ratings are peaking way too early on this for 2010.

You assume a fact not yet in evidence—that the unfavoriable ratings are peaking. That's not likely.

Just keep the One appearing for them and “explaining” that all of us must shut up and obey and the decline will accelarate.

I’ll bet the Republican Senators include Graham, Snowe, Collins and Martinez. Which would account for a significant amount of dissatisfaction from the right.
