FL 2010: Crist after those who pack heat or chill [says yes to "cash for clunkers" for appliances]
The Palm Beach Post ^ | 2009-08-09

Gov. Crist wants to be Sen. Crist, and to get there he's running in two very different races at once. That explains Gov. Crist's fixation on dishwashers and guns.

Last week, Gov. Crist announced with fanfare "his commitment to increasing energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions." He really was endorsing $17.5''million in federal rebates for Floridians to buy energy-efficient refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers and such. It's like the popular "cash for clunkers," but aimed at appliances instead of cars.

This is a perfect polishing of the populist, moderate Charlie Crist. Middle-class voters who can't afford a new car can afford, say, a new refrigerator and will appreciate the roughly $290 rebate - 20 percent of the cost. Business owners also will be happy. The typical dishwasher rebate, by the way, will be about $200.

Endorsing the federal stimulus and environmental goals puts Gov. Crist left-of-center on his party's spectrum, to help him with Democratic votes in the 2010 general election.

Rather have a conservative but at this point will take anything to get the Socialists out of the majority to buy some time.

Yes but he has an R in front of his name. We need 51.

If that 51 is made up of RINOs, then thanks, but no thanks.

On an unrelated note, would you vote for Obama if he ran for re-election as a Republican?

I would vote for a Kangaroo before a Democrat. Including a RINO. At this point. We can purge later.

You didn’t answer my question.

If Obama switched parties and ran as the Republican nominee, would you vote for him?

Duhh. I do not think he would make it very far. The Question is so far out in the Ozone it is totally irrelevent. If it helps I would vote for Michael Jacksons Brain before Obama.

You still didn’t answer my question.

It’s a very simple one.

If you were at the ballot box and had several choices, and Obama was the Republican candidate for President, would you cast your vote for him?

Answer the question, and quit being evasive.

2A gets my vote. Single most important issue for me and why I will be voting for Jerry Brown for Governor in California. Republicans who go wishy washy on guns can suck eggs.

I am too busy working on mobilizing every asset I can get my hands on to engage the enemy around here to deal with this question. I suggest you take it to the street where ever you are and keep the pressure on. We are taking them down. So go get em and worry about that later TallyHo! and good Hunting.

“40 acres and a mule!”

(from Gone With the Wind, Democrat slogan to newly freed slaves of land they seized in return for votes)
