Republicans banking on 2012 election
politico.com ^ | August 9, 2009 | By KENNETH P. VOGEL

Consider this: In the first half of 2009, Mitt Romney’s political committee paid $188,000 to a small army of consultants, Newt Gingrich’s dropped $628,000 on charter flights, Mike Huckabee’s wrote staff paychecks totaling $131,000 and Sarah Palin’s spent $107,000 raising more money.

All four are considered potential presidential candidates, and the flurry of campaign finance activity, outlined in reports filed late last month with the Federal Election Commission and Internal Revenue Service, may hold clues about their prospects — and intentions.

Each insist they’re using their efforts to help rebuild the party — and the conservative movement — after the GOP’s debilitating losses in the past two election cycles, not jockeying for 2012 pole position.

But the manner in which such money is being spent suggests they are as much focused on accumulating the resources for a national infrastructure and keeping high their national profiles as party-building activities....

The GOP won’t even point out Obama’s snitchgate CRIME Except for one letter. They should be pounding their shoes on podiums and demanding a special proscutor.

If “elections” are to be part of the cure for what is happening NOW, electing a conservative and patriotic majority in the House and Senate OUGHT to be the focus, rather than ignoring 2010 as this article invites us to do.....

(my response to this article the LAST time it was posted, not very long ago, btw)

Voters are not mad, they`re frustrated.

They know the GOP is the, “ Us too except not as much “ party.

The GOP is in for a shock when these voters sit on their hands again in 2010 and 2012 as the Totalitarian Democrats rack up another super majority.

It doesn't even matter who runs. What really matters is if conservatives can regain control of the republican party from the rino's. If moderate/rino's stay in control there will be at least eight years of liberals/Obama. I've been screaming this since 2006 and if we conservatives sit back and do NOTHING as usual then we will see this country disintegrate!

AND WE ALL KNOW IT!

Let me know when the Politico points out that the Democrats who run the House of Representatives are spending more than $200 million on a fleet of private luxury jets.

I totally disagree with you. The grassroots are organizing behind new candidates who will carry and articulate the conservative message. Case in point is the candidate I stump for here in Florida. Charlie Crist is now cancelling all of his little info gatherings on things such as glowbull whining and already moving to the right to try and blunt the momentum of Marco Rubio. If he wasn’t concerned about him money wise, why change his position on RINO attributes?

Most of Charlie’s contributors can’t legally give to his campaign again, Marco is taking a different tact and going out to the people to build his momentum to be in stride at the end of the game when Charlie’s resources will be used up.

The only one of those 4 mentioned, that I would vote for is Sarah Palin.

Gingrich will sell us out ,Huckabee should stick to his guitar and Romney is a liberal flying false colors.

We have to forget aboutt he people the RINO Republicans ant to run adn find someone we trust. So far Palin is that person, as much as I like her I dont believe she is electable.

As I said in post #9 if republicans don't run conservative canidates you can count on your scenario!

We are foolish morons if we conservative republican's think voters are going to elect republicans just because they don't like congress or Obama because of a couple of issues.

If that happens then it’s over - Zimbabwe here we come and where the UK is heading. Unless the Repubs pick up lots of seats in 2010 and stop acting like RINOs then it’s over.

Absolutely correct, that is the primary goal, then on to the Presidential race, I like Newt and Sarah, both good people but Newt has to stop sitting down with Plastic Pelousi to get face time.

If the Pubbies want the WH back, they’d better put a candidate at the top of the ticket WHO CAN WIN!

Hate to say it but we got Zero because a lot of the conservatives didn’t see much difference between Zero and McLame and stayed home.
