I agree, I think Ras was pretty accurate. In fact, I think most of the polls were pretty close, unfortunately. My editorial yesterday, though, argues something totally different ("What If They Don't Care?")

What if they have already calculated "acceptable casualties" (say, a loss of 30 House seats and 4-5 Senate seats) in order to put in place a "doomsday machine" that it will take SUPERMAJORITIES to override and repeal? What if like Lloyd Doggett in TX and the guy in NC, they say, "we don't care what you think." (Yes, they said something to that effect---that they would vote for healthcare no matter what their constituents wanted.)

While that may be true, and I do follow your logic, all it means, Larry, is we have to be, as Barry Goldwater once said, eternally vigilant.

Relentless. Talk to people, all the time. We need to actuallyu organize, to the level the Leftwing media nad top democrats SAY we have been.

So, how do we do our part? Kepp at ‘em!

Larry, is there any chance you can get on Fox News again to go over this theory of yours? You were very effective on the textbook issue.

Leaving aside armed rebellion, which I fear will play into their hands in all the ways everyone has already outlined, what can we do if/when this terrifying bill passes, in whatever form for now?

We will have 3 years before it actually takes full effect, although some aspects may show up immediately in the form of a price war among the insurance companies and the inclusion of many of the points contained in the single-payer option being made available in private insurance.

How many seats do we need to take to block zerO for the next 2 years after midterms?

I have been wondering if Ghandi-style civil disobedience would be effective? Thousands of citizens sitting in the street singing “We Shall Not Be Moved”. Universal work strikes. Tax strikes.Every voter who feels vulnerable accompanied by two large young militarily trained men as they go to the polls. (I actually had this scenario happen to me at a Bush rally in 2004. The leftists had blocked the exits to the parking lots and were forcing the attendees to walk out of their way to get to their cars. I saw two tall, young soldiers and asked them if they would accompany me through the mess and they did. One had to deflect an elbow aimed at my head by a protester. I was 61 and am about 5’3” and under 130 pounds).

We need tactics and strategies that can be implemented by individuals and fall short of violence, which will give them an excuse to enact martial law and emergency statutes.
