When this kind of powerless became the not left type of powerless. They are not burning flags, cars or businesses, they are daring to yell at the very elites that feed the press corps.
Good evening, Alas. Please add me. Thanks!
There are plenty of other kinds of events beyond Tea Parties and townhall meetings. Organizing for Obama is leveraging all kinds of community functions by being present and handing out their propaganda. They are at metro stops handing out their materials on Obamacare. We need to counter those efforts by being at those same events providing a counterpoint. We can’t allow the Big Lie to go unanswered.
That a dismal picture you paint. Lets “hope” for some “change”.
In my reply, I told you of the abuse I'd repeatedly suffered at the hands of rodguy911: Racial slurs, profanity, personal attacks and threats, all in violation of Free Republic's stated rules of conduct. I have never responded in kind.
You registered only indifference. You never even afforded me the courtesy of a response.
It is very telling to note when, under what circumstances and on whose behalf you are led to record your indignation.
Rather than denounce the use of the term “asshole” by one FReeper against another, you've chosen to attack the the one assailed, not the assailant.
Think about that.
I think many rebpucican party big wigs are getting the message, let's hope in time. In addition to having to really beg for funding from conservatives in the party at least some of the rinos are leaving or being booted out. Here is Fla.,you mentioned Martinez,he's leaving early. No coincidence there. We have been on his ass for some time. We are sick of the lack of enforcement of immigration laws on our border.
One of the Hispanic newcomers to the party and fast up and coming, Marco Rubio, has been tasked with signing on to a whole new respect for immigration laws. To be expected he fought it some but seems to be coming around.
Most Hispanics I know have respect for borders and do not believe in open borders. That alone takes away the argument that the rinos who have almost destroyed the party have had.
It's going to be a long battle but many of us have adopted a position of not having our party co-opted by the rino squishy middle wannabes.
The Republican Party historically has been a conservative party and will be again. It's just a matter of how long it takes us to get there.
Maybe you should put your paper up on FR. Do a bunch of threads on it and then get it to FNC, Talk radio, get a few people talking about it. Few have you experience or expertise.
I have a friend whose husband is a contract worker in Asia and they cannot get health insurance. The reason they were turned down is migraine headaches and seasonal allergies.
You forgot me! (late again, and thanks for the thread!)
Remember, Florida Lobsters resemble big crayfish, not new England Lobsters.
That was because I only care about THIS thread. I have NO power over things you and others say to EACH other on other threads. It is as simple as that. You have my sympathies, but there’s nothing I can do elsewhere on Free Republic. I suggest you use the Report Abuse button for your other than THIS thread problems.
But we aren’t carrying feuds over here. Not on this thread.
One problem with your theory, LS, is that it gives us the choice of being raped by these folks, or start killing them. Despite my homepage worries I do not think we are there yet.
I don’t care. All lobsters taste great to me!
The people that I see are not politically connected per se but they don’t like taxes and they don’t like ObamaCare. Obama and his ilk have pushed too hard and too fast and the taxpayers are revolting. Trust me, the elected officials are paying attention. We cannot back off.
Sotomayor had more votes cast against her than were cast against any Democrat's nominee since Grover Cleveland.
However, some of the Blue Dogs won't take this offer. How many, I don't know.
I am positive they will try to get this health thing enacted after the break. We must NOT get discouraged. Larry has a good point, but it shouldn't deter us. If Obama is willing to sacrifice some congressmen for this health care plan, he is making a stupid choice.
Once they get an actual bill, they won't be able to say "there's no real bill yet" to ward off criticism. Once there is a bill, they will have to have a vote in the Senate as well.
And once we have both senators and congressmen on record, it will be very easy to promise repeal of the health care bill if enough Republicans are elected. Obama may think that once it's enacted it will be impossible to repeal, but that simply isn't the truth. It might take another election, but it WILL get repealed.
What we must do is keep the pressure on, because if they go ahead and pass this after all of these town hall meetings, people are going to be even angrier. Hopefully the only action from this anger will be a conservative landslide.
People are REALLY angry. When I see comments after Washington Post articles in which Obama is mocked and vilified by a large number of readers, I think that's a pretty good indication that the anger is national, not just here and on some of the blogs.
