The US Navy had enough for Cuba. The Army is short of guards? It is a permanent need. The military operates a large number of very old and permanent prisons for military personnel including in foreign countries.
Outside of war needs and refugee needs around the entire globe, the military also has to maintain prisons for it's own criminals from it's population that is equal to that of several states combined, that includes police, prison guards, wardens and every other facet of civilian life as it relates to criminal internment for up to life and even death row prisoners.

A Caucasian male.
(I believe that’s still the major demographic group in the US Military.)

I don’t have as much faith in our current Administration. I posted this so Freepers could keep their eyes open. As we have found time and time again it is the Obama speeches given to followers that are the real truth and motives of him. He good friend Ayres joked years ago about reeducation camps just as Obama talks about single payer health care but denies it also. History can repeat itself. America gave the complete power of government except the Supreme Court to the Democrats. They are transforming America at the fastest rate I have ever seen. The more they win, the more they attempt.

They very well might be. The Army breaks down its personnel needs by Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), and if there are shortages in on MOS, they will recruit into that MOS more. I suspect much of the incoming personnel pool is going into the combat MOSs.

Sir, with all due respect I do understand. I understand that the United States military supports and defends the Constitution of the United States and has done it well for over 200 years. I also understand that you are accusing them of ignoring the Constitution and preparing to inter the citizenry for political purposes. You make this accusation as they risk their lives defending this nation on battlefields throughout the world. The freedom you use on this forum is protected solely by them and yet you slander them. This is not the first thread I have seen today on this "black helicopter" theory. If this is what Free Republic has become I am disappointed to say the least.

No disrespect intended here but you cant really believe that If you believe anything else you are either off your meds, or a few bricks shy of a full load.
The army has been running facilities for captured insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan for years. Army MP's help man Gitmo. The Army runs the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks at Ft. Leavenworth. The increase in requirements for MP guards began in the Bush Administration. Its a volunteer army, they need to recruit for replacements when soldiers leave the army.
Quit wasting your time with nonsense like this, there are plenty of things out there that the Obama Administration is really doing that ought to be getting our attention. The country is in real danger, but not from Army MP's.

I’ve never made a secret of it; in fact, I live next to Fort Meade, and I commute to work with many Army officers.

The same process that they do when they receive any order that is illegal.
1. Ask to clarify it. “Do you really mean round up American citizens and take them to internment camps against their will, Mr. President?”
2. Inform someone outside the chain of command.
3. If it is an illegal order, disobey it. The Commander in Chief's illegal orders are as invalid as any other leader's illegal orders.
The Army we have today are not automata. The officers and NCOs I see today are the most educated and best-trained soldiers in American history. They are thinkers. They are aware of politics. The fear of CONUS units trying to intern civilians against their will poorly founded.

Watching Glenn Beck on Friday a person from England gave the fact that the British health care employment was the third largest in the world. The first was the Chinese Army and second was the Indian Railroad. Right now employment Homeland Security in this country in increasing. I get to see the job listings. As of Rush';s show the only increasing employer in American is the United States government. We are Nationalizing America at an extreme rate. If you want to think it is all for the good of America keep fooling yourself.

This what I believe. If ordered to most of teh U S Military would not obey the orders of this President. So don't tell me what I am saying or believe. But as Obama's adviser said, "We should not let a crisis go by and not take advantage of ", (paraphrase). Obama has been replacing the higher structure of the military at a faster rate then any other President. My focus is there. They can order the ads and the new rates. So condemn me all you want but you are only killing the messenger. So you don't like my methods. It is time to wake up and the cold water is not pleasant.

You posted a description of an ordinary job in the military because you don’t know anything about the military so you didn’t realize that they have jails and prisons and maximum security prisons and death row prisoners just like the real world and they have to have prison guards that can do everything that California prison guards do.
Military prison guards quit their jobs and move on, even more than their civilian counterparts probably, meaning that just like a California prison or a South Dakota prison the military has to constantly advertise for new personnel.

We heard all the crap about how Bush cause 9/11. We see all the projection the Democrats throw on us. The truth is they are the ones able to create crisis and not have any moral guilt about it.

You aren't making your point very clearly. Do you think that because I live in Maryland I do not observe the policies of this President? Maryland is a very diverse state and many of its workers do not work for the Federal government. Furthermore, Maryland does elect Republican House members and when the conservatives in this State move, they make the Baltimore cabal shake in fear.
If there is any increase in employment around here because of the Federal Government, I haven't noticed. Most of the increases seem to be in Obama’s White House Staff and his czars, but then you have the gross downsizing of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to balance that out.
We in this area aren't raking the bucks over this Administration. What incompetence! Even Lyndon Johnson would have done things better.

I have been in the United States Navy. I understand all that. I have posted above the truth. We are at a historic government increase of jobs. Ignore that fact if you want.
