Surprise, surprise. Now that his eminence, and not George Bush, is President, service academies are a
cool place again. For eight years we were treated to story after story about how the service academies were either proselytizing Christianity, or they were hotbeds of date-rape, or they were falling well short in preparing young officer for fighting a more intellectually challenging kind of war - whatever that is.
Now, as if by some magical proclamation or conversion, West Point is the best college in the country. Color me nauseous.
