True conviction: The key to victory in 2010? - ALAN KEYES
WorldNetDaily ^ | August 7, 2009 | Alan Keyes

As opposition intensifies against the totalitarian takeover of the health system, the Obama faction and its henchmen are seeking to portray all opposition as irrational, crazy extremists.

Naturally, conservative are protesting against what one psychiatrist sees as an effort to dehumanize the Obama faction's opponents, to silence them and discourage others from openly associating with them.

Thanks for your opinion, Mr. Alinsky.

By the way, your post contains untruths, which only serve to sharpen the comparison with the lying Left.

Untruths? I don't think so, videos don't lie:

In 1996 he chained himself to the front door of a television station in Atlanta, Georgia, to protest against a decision to exclude him from a presidential debate.

Here is the video of him getting arrested

Alan Keyes ws arrested on Notre Dame's campus on May 08, 2009, pushing a baby stroller carrying a baby doll covered in "stage blood" to protest the invitation of Notre Dame to President Obama to deliver the commencement address at this year's graduation.

Here is the video of him pushing the stroller

I rest my case.

A) He never chained himself to the door. You’re making it up, or simply repeating the lies of a bunch of leftists.

B) He was never arrested. He was unlawfully detained and driven around before being dropped off, with no money and no access to a phone, in a slum. No charges were ever ever suggested, much less brought. The Mayor of Atlanta was forced to apologize for the indecent and unlawful treatment accorded Dr. Keyes.

C) He was invited to participate in the debate, one that he had every right to participate in. His exclusion was a travesty and a complete embarassment to the GOP.

It’s a noble effort EV - but I’ll be able to explain quantum mechanics to my five-year-old before you’ll be able to use facts to de-foam the rabid mouth of a Keyes hater.

1) So now you are calling FR a leftist lying site? That is where I heard it.

2) Do a Google search, genius. Every article that was printed on this says he was arrested.

3) He is an embarrassment to the GOP, especially when he falsely plays the race card because he is treated for what he is, a lunatic fringe candidate who couldn't be elected dogcatcher.

Apparently there is no convincing you even when presented with not only facts but actual video...but that is my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Point well taken. I guess sometimes I can’t resist the urge to beat my head bloody against locked steel doors.

Thanks!

Where/What is that building in the picture? It looks very familiar...well, of course, it could be any of a couple of thousand in the "D".

My opinion of Alan Keyes is the same as yours. I remember years ago, when he was able to force his way into a Presidential debate, he clarified the abortion issue for me. Prior to that, I was one of those who bought the idea that abortions were going to happen whether in a clean doctor’s office or a filthy back alley. Therefore, I was pro choice.

In the debate I mentioned above, they asked John McCain what he would do if he learned his unmarried daughter was pregnant. He said they would have a family meeting and discuss the issue.

Later, when they finally got around to Alan on another issue he went back to the McCain question. He said McCain’s answer showed that McCain didn’t understand abortion. He then asked McCain what he would do if his daughter wanted to kill Grandma? Would he have a family meeting to discuss it?

That clarified the issue for me! It is not pro life versus pro choice! It is pro life versus pro murder!!

Alan Keyes is brilliant! Alan Keyes is a devoted Christian! Alan Keyes is a dedicated conservative because his brilliance has shown him it is the right path!

To those others who don’t see that or who are too impressed by the superficial, I say stay out of the debate. You will only embarrass yourselves.

If you think that Keyes is “the right path,” good for you. I am glad that you became pro-life after listening to him. However, in terms of electoral politics, he has been a disaster, Obama’s best friend.

BTW, telling people who don’t support Mr. Keyes new fringe party to shut up or otherwise insulting them is profoundly un-American. That kind of behavior is one reason why Mr. Keyes has such little support.

However, in terms of electoral politics, he has been a disaster, Obama’s best friend.

I am not sure what you are talking about here. In the event you are talking about him running against Obama for Senate in Illinois it is my understanding that he was asked by the GOP to challenge Obama. He did but it was late in the game and he lost to the Chicago style politicians. Many thought that made him look like an opportunists rather than someone who was opposed to the likes of Obama. It seems he knew more than the rest of us at the time. In addition, because of his outspoken directness rather than the use of political falderal many in the GOP leadership find him to be a bother and they work against him. That is why they worked to keep him out of the debates, he forces the issues upon them.

Just listen to him and evaluate what he says against what others say. He is usually the most reasonable and conservative of the bunch. He is also a spellbinding speaker if you can get past your prejudice (Not talking race here but general prejudice.).

Is this the iowahawk who has been on FR for a long time and also went out and did some other things? If so, you seem to have changed. If you consider my comments about staying out of the debate or risk embarrassment to be insulting then you seem to be seeking it. That is a rather bland statement.

Ironic post, since you were the first poster on the thread to offer up insults, of the exact sort that is commonly used to attempt to shut people up and turn people away from what Alan is saying.

First of all, how dare you say we that don't worship at the altar of Alan Keyes should stay out of the debate.Your support is not going to make him any more electable, you are in the minority, the majority of people find him preachy, abrasive, arrogant and often downright embarrassing due to his drama queen antics and incoherent rants. This has been proven at the polls time and again.

Playing the race card as he has repeatedly done in the past has further marginalized him. Keyes referred to his inability to attract media attention during the 1996 presidential primaries as “a blackout, which means you keep the black out.” Keyes told Republicans in 1992 that they had gone colorblind, which “means that when a colored person walks in, you suddenly go blind." In the 1999, presidential debate, Keyes accused journalists of being racist because they didn’t ask him questions in the pressroom. Again in 2000, he accused the press of racism because he felt they didn't cover him the way he wanted. That attitude does not become him and is one of the main reasons I find him repulsive.

I have just as much of a right to an opinion as you do and I in no way embarrass myself by expressing it. On the contrary, for you to demand that everyone share your high opinion of him in the face of overwhelming opposition must be embarrassing for you.

Oh please...his over-the-top antics, such as chaining himself to a TV station and pushing a baby carriage containing bloodied dolls are a total embarrassment to say the least. He’s a carpet bagging, party jumping, drama queen media whore.

********************

I disagree. Keyes did a brave thing for the pro-life cause when he demonstrated at Notre Dame. I was quite impressed.

Keyes was not a carpet bagger in Illinois, he came in at the request of the party......lord knows I wish he had won, if he had we would not have the vermin in the White House we have now.

First of all, your Freeper name is as appropriate as mine.

This is what I said: Alan Keyes is brilliant! Alan Keyes is a devoted Christian! Alan Keyes is a dedicated conservative because his brilliance has shown him it is the right path! To those others who don’t see that or who are too impressed by the superficial, I say stay out of the debate. You will only embarrass yourselves.

You said: First of all, how dare you say we that don't worship at the altar of Alan Keyes should stay out of the debate. .... On the contrary, for you to demand that everyone share your high opinion of him ...

Do you consider that a demand? I intended it as a warning, one which you didn't heed. I rest my case.
