Oil is getting poured on the fire.

"Dingell (D-MI) forum on health care forms gets raucous"

Updated at 8:15 p.m.

U.S. Rep. John Dingell was greeted with jeers and cheers today as he tried to explain why changing the nation’s health care system — as he has advocated for more than a half-century in Congress — makes sense.

Dingell, 81, told a health care forum he sponsored in Romulus that the legislation won’t pay for abortions, as some protesters said it would.

“There will be no payment of taxpayer funds for abortion,” he said.

As Dingell tried to begin the forum, Mike Sola, of Milan, interrupted the congressman repeatedly as he pushed his son, Scott, in a wheelchair, to the podium. He said proposed changes wouldn’t help Scott and called Dingell a fraud.

Even before the town hall began in Romulus, opponents of President Barack Obama’s health plan engaged supporters.

“You may be dead in five years,” Val Butsicaris, 60, of Taylor, shouted. “They may euthanize you.”

She referred to concerns of government rationing of care for the elderly.

Mel Hoffer, 67, of Monroe, a retired Ford Motor Co. employee, said retired autoworkers have no guarantees.

“We may need something to fall back on,” he said.

Earlier in Troy, about 200 people gathered outside the office of U.S. Rep. Gary Peters to let him know they don’t like Obama’s health care plan.

The organized protests that came to metro Detroit today followed others around the nation this week. In Petoskey on Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Menominee, faced shouts of “That’s a lie” and “You’ve lost my vote” at a meeting with senior citizens. I'd post the entire article on it's own but can't due to restrictions. http://freep.com/article/20090806/NEWS15/90806087/Dingell-forum-on-health-care-reforms-gets-raucous

I attended Dingell’s forum. They had so many people, they had to break it into two sessions, and there were still many people who couldn’t get in. The schmuck who moderated it was a representative from AARP and was loudly jeered. The ACORN and unions plants were there, but they were greatly outnumbered.

Dingell, who wrote the bill and kept telling us he wrote the bill (the crowd responded loudly that he didn’t even know what was in it, and got booed for writing it) got booed very loudly when he was introduced and when the meeting adjourned.

They thought they were setting a sympathetic mood by having a Dingell supporter with a horrible disease open the meeting by regaling us with her medical problems and telling us she was a social worker (which didn’t do much to gleen her any sympathy). The crowd didn’t appreciate being conned or lectured to and shouted, “We all have sob stories”. She left rather abruptly.

The crowd was relentless. We were sick of the lies and the b.s. he was giving us and clearly let him know we weren’t buying any of it.

Dingell-berry is 81 years old. There should be a cap on age in the Senate and Congress. How old is Byrd, 91?

These old sobs that voted for their messiah actually voted for their own deaths. But they are still too stupid to realize it. Let them all go to hell and take obama with them.
