I was shocked when one survey showed President Barack Obama with a disapproval rating of 35 percent among African Americans in Georgia, while the second one had it at 38 percent.


Disapproval is far removed from “For whom would you vote if the election was being held today”..... In other words they can disapprove of him but still pull the lever for him on election day.

Many African Americans in Atlanta are extremely successful and fully integrated into the upper class neighborhoods. They don’t like paying taxes or the thought of losing what they’ve earned either. They may talk a good game (pro-Obama), but they also enjoy the lifestyle that a high income provides.
