It's just one state. But its one of the centers of African-American culture and influence in the nation. Atlanta, with nearly 6 million residents in its metro area, is home to hundreds of top black musicians and other entertainers, civil rights leaders, and business entrepreneurs. Janet Jackson, Usher, Tyler Perry, and Andrew Young are just a handful of the many big names that can be found moving about the Georgia city on a given day.
That's why I was startled when our firm, InsiderAdvantage, conducted this past week two separate surveys about various issues for corporate clients in the area. Both polls were conducted on the same night. To keep phone respondents on the line while the poll quizzed them on rather mundane subjects, they were told they'd be given a chance during the questioning to offer an opinion on the job performances of certain political leaders.
I was shocked when one survey showed President Barack Obama with a disapproval rating of 35 percent among African Americans in Georgia, while the second one had it at 38 percent. Those two results are statistically identical, as both polls had margins of error of plus or minus 4 percent.

People won’t admit it, but people will believe that this is what happens when you elect a black man president. It is fallacious. If the president were Walter E. Williams and not Ears The Joker, we’d actually have a good president and wouldn’t wonder if he were actually a citizen.
Conversation with black gentleman right after ignauration. He worked at the VA.
“Yeah, economy is getting worse. I’ll be glad when Obama sends those checks out”.
“You do know you aren’t getting a check, right?”
“What do you mean? I saw on the news last night that we were getting a $600 rebate?”
“Yeah, but that’s going to be given to you weekly and in your paycheck. You’ll get $8 a week more in your check because they will take that much out less in taxes withheld”
“???????? For real?????? Damn, George Bush did better than that!”
What is it, down to 98% ?
I truly hope people don’t associate Obama with black people in leadership. We have just as many crooked white politicians.
It’s the PERSON. Sadly, too many voted with their need for historical justification and ended up with the smooth talking long legged macdaddy.
Wow, so much for the 97% support among blacks.
He was actually my state representative. He was very active in politics in this conservative metro county, candidate for lieutenant governor.
Then all of a sudden he just quit politics. Like that. Overnight. Have no idea why (hasten to add there's no scandal that I'm aware of).
Now he pontificates from the sidelines. I kind of feel like he's a quitter, and don't really trust him.
This is total fantasy.
This article doesn’t really tell me anything. Okay, so times are tough, and they’re disappointed. That’s to be expected. But HOW are they disappointed? Do they want more government “stimuli”, more spending, more bailouts, etc.? Are they upset that “Barack is screwing up” or that “Barack isn’t giving them everything they were promised?”
I think it’s a critically important question.
I’m sorry to say that I agree with you. I stated several months ago that because of Zero’s actions, or inactions, he has given a bad name to “a black man as potus” & possibly has ruined the chances for when the next black man tries to run for the seat.
The biggest thing that came about when he was artificially elected...was that there would finally be a break down of the racial barrier. As it turns out, Zero is a bigger racist than anyone!
knowing ACORN, iys more like 105%
Well stated!
Betcha darn few of them vote in 2010 or 2012.
The HNIC is giving everyone a bad taste for the first black President..... or was that the 2nd? Even a good Black won’t have a chance for 50 years.
Not unusual for that vote block to have “other things to do” on vote date, unless something very much connected to free gubmint money was the hot item. By 2012 nobama will be so boxed up he’ll be pretending to be conservative and will be pushing how white he is.
Does he have kids? He might value family life over politics.
Perhaps they’ve seen the YouTube “Black Genocide” (Margaret Sanger, etc) video and then heard how Obama put taxpayer-funded abortions in his “health care” bill.
Forget it. Until it shows up in a national election it’s all nonsense as far as I’m concerned. They don’t even have to vote Republican. But vote for someone other than the Democrat just so we know they will actually do it. Until then I’ll expect at least 85% and usually in the 90% percentile to pull the same lever.
The African Americans will still turn out to vote for the DNC no matter what’s happening, how bad things get, or who is on the ballot. They’ve been kept on the reservation this long with lies about free hand-outs, they’re not about to be run off now. And certainly not by an Obama failure. They’ll just blame it on Bush and the white-man in general and vote for Obama anyway.
