Schiff supporters to set off another moneybomb
The Hartford Courant ^ | August 6, 2009 | Daniela Altimari

Supporters of Peter Schiff's nascent bid for U.S. Senate plan to unleash another money bomb, or one-day donation blitz, tomorrow.

The goal, according to the money bomb website, is to raise $1 million in a single day.

Schiff has formed an exploratory committee as he contemplates a run for the Republican nomination to take on Democratic incumbent Chris Dodd.

Known for his outspoken opposition to federal bailouts and stimulus efforts, Schiff has made frequent appearances on CNBC and other networks and is credited with having foreseen the current financial crisis. He served as economic adviser to Ron Paul, who sought the Republican presidential nomination last year.

Yeah right. Listening to him on CNBC, he is easily 100 times more conservative than limp-wristed New England RINO weenies Foley and Simmons.

Schiff has already nearly matched them in total money raised without even trying. And that is before this August 7th "moneybomb."

So Chris Dodd is better? You aren't going to get your perfect conservative in Connecticut.

Remember perfection is the enemy of the good.

He is RINO trash.

Could you please substantiate your claim. I regularly watch Peter Schiff. His recent critique of the cash for junkers program was spot on. Maybe you should watch his channel on youtube and get back to us.

Schiff was on MSNBC Ed Schulz show guest hosted by Lawrence O Donald to talk about the Senate race with predictable results. He was led (by the narrow questions) , was cut off and had words put in his mouth by LOD as LOD always does to Republicans. Normal host Ed Schulz treats his republican guests with respect in spite of being a single payer liberal.

But it illustrated a point I have been making for a while. Election politics and free market solutions do not mix well(and esp in a liberal state). The voters have been trained to demand Keynesian type direction into the economy. Market based reforms will be called “Doing nothing” exactly as LOD did to Schiff on MSNBC. LOD also claimed that Schiff's opposition to democrats public option was the same as being for cutting off medicare, which is a political trap democrats are trying to spring (so far not working because republicans are not in charge). But medicare comparison does bring up an interesting intellectual argument about socialized medicine.

I saw that interview. It hardly qualified as such in my opinion. I’ve never heard of Lawrence O Donald, and I hope I never have the misfortune of hearing him again.
