Your posting of the much worn and valid birth certificate of Alaric Edgar Hubert Bomford noted. I did much research myself using Ancestry.com, Gen Forum and Genes Re-United. I got a little discouraged on the lack of our friend Alaric as a first name.

Just when I began to wonder about it, up came your post. I noted two Charles Bomfords in the Canadian census for 1911, but the record did not give Charles Alaric. A young man when drowned, I expect the infant Bomford was called such, to remember their drowned relative.

Yes, David Bomford in Australia is the real deal.
