The University of Illinois, which employs communist terrorist Bill Ayers as a professor, has been hit by an admissions scandal which has forced the resignation of the chairman of its board of trustees. An investigation by the Chicago Tribune found that more than 800 undergraduate applicants received special consideration from 2005 to 2009 because "they had powerful patrons, including elected officials, trustees and donors." It added that "Dozens more law and graduate school applicants also got preferential treatment."
But how did Bill Ayers get his job? All signs point to his rich father, Thomas Ayers, who was CEO of Commonwealth Edison and a major power player in the Chicago establishment.
Will the Chicago Tribune investigate this? Thomas Ayers sat on the board of the Tribune Company, which publishes the Tribune.
Thomas Ayers also sat on the board of Northwestern University, where Bill Ayers' wife and fellow terrorist Bernardine Dohrn got a teaching job.

Everyone should read the whole article. Maybe take the basic facts and make a faux presentation as if it is Cheney or Newt or someone and see your Lib friends react to the basic facts...ultimately revealing the real names. Would be an interesting experiment.
Huh? I thought all you had to do to get into the U of I was to finish high school or have a GED in hand. If these kids had to petition official, trustees, and donors, they were wasting their time or they must have been real problem children.

Enrolling at the nation's premier training academy for progressive teachers, Columbia University's Teachers College, Ayers soon earned both an M.Ed. and Ed.D. in Curriculum and Teaching (1987).

Why Won’t Obama Talk About Columbia?
The years he won’t discuss may explain the Ayers tie he keeps lying about.

Barack Obama does not want to talk about Columbia. Not even to his good friends at the New York Times, who’ve so reliably helped him bleach away his past — a past neck-deep in the hard Left radicalism he has gussied up but never abandoned.
Why? I suspect it is because Columbia would shred his thin post-partisan camouflage.

After they left Columbia, both Obama and Ayers went to Chicago: Obama to become a “community organizer” (the director of the Developing Communities Project, an offshoot of the Gamaliel Foundation dedicated to Saul Alinsky’s principles for radicalizing society); Ayers, two years later, to teach at the University of Illinois.
Diamond details how they both became embroiled in a major education controversy that resulted in 1988 reform legislation.
Ayers’s father, Tom Ayers, a prominent Chicago businessman, was also deeply involved in the reform effort. Interestingly, in 1988, while Obama and Ayers toiled on the same education agenda, Bernadine Dohrn worked as an intern at the prestigious Chicago law firm of Sidley Austin — even though she could not be admitted to the bar due to her contempt conviction for refusing to cooperate in a terrorist investigation.
How could that happen? It turns out that Sidley was the longtime outside counsel for Tom Ayers’s company, Commonwealth Edison. That is, Ayers’ father had pull at the firm and successfully pressed for the hiring of his daughter-in-law.

7) The Annenberg Challenge was phased out in 2001 and morphed into the Chicago Public Education Fund. Obama served on the Board’s Leadership Council for approximately three years, along with Ayers’ father, Thomas Ayers, and Ayers’ brother, John.
8) In addition to the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Obama and William Ayers co-chaired “A clearing-house for ideas, for resources...” known as the Collaborative for five years (1995-2000). The obvious conclusion is that Obama and Ayers worked closely together in the top leadership positions of the most powerful education reform arms of the Chicago school system.
9) Mike Klonsky is another tie to the radical positions of Ayers. He received a $175,000.00 grant from CAC. Klonsky blogged on the Obama ‘08 website until approximately June 26, 2008 when his radicalized political views and connection to Obama became known. This from Gateway Pundit:

Ayers is the son of Thomas Ayers, wealthy former CEO of Commonwealth Edison (now Exelon) — the energy giant serving Northern Illinois.
Thomas Ayers was a mover and shaker of Chicago cultural, financial, political, and social circles.
The Daley machine has run Chicago politics for 40 years, and Thomas Ayers became the gray eminence of Daley machine politics and Chicago society — a gray eminence that an ambitious young politician like Obama would have sought out.
Bill Ayer’s brother John has said that his father “believed in change.” Thomas Ayers died in his Hyde Park home in 2007 at 92 years of age.

Well, it can’t have hurt that his father, Thomas Ayers, was chairman of Commonwealth Edison (now Exelon) and a charter member of the Chicago establishment.
As Mayor Richard M. Daley said recently, in arguing that the Ayers association should not be held against Obama, “His father was a great friend of my father.”
In none of our other major cities is genealogy so important.
I remember a story that Bill Plante of CBS News has often told. Plante was working for WBBM, the Chicago CBS-owned and -operated affiliate, during the violence-plagued Democratic National Convention.
At a press conference, he asked the late Mayor Richard J. Daley a question “da mare” thought was impertinent. Daley’s answer was, “Sometimes even in the best of families there’s a bad apple.”
It baffled the members of the national press, but not those from Chicago.
Plante’s father and brother were Democratic precinct committeemen in the 49th Ward. The late Mayor Daley had the whole city of Chicago in his head. It is only natural that his son should vouch for someone by saying that their fathers were great friends.
