Considering the fact that the low flush toilets only use 1-2 gallons/water per flush while your average shower uses a lot more water than that. I don’t see there’s much water savings here. One gallon/day is supposed to be something?!

Probably depends some on how much you pay for water, or what capacity your well has.

Didn’t George Costanza and Elaine had a debate about this in a Seinfeld episode?

I don’t see what the problem is. The PVC Schedule 40 from the shower drain meets up with the toilet drain pipe about 16 inches away from the shower. It goes to the same place.

The answer is obvious.
The great wild world of your backyard awaits you.
And it doesn't use any water at all.

Wouldnt it save even more water if they just went outside and peed and showered in the rain? ;)"

The deck works for me. My water bill was down a dollar this month.

Athletes Foot
I’ve been peeing in the shower for as long as I can remember. I pee right on my feet. I never get athletes foot.

More encouragement for people to pee in swimming pools. Great.

REAL environmentalists would poo poo the idea of taking showers altogether.
You can take a BATH once a week and each family member can take turns reusing the bathwater that has been drawn. Please don’t pee in the bathwater...

Elaine, [eating dinner with Kramer, Elaine, and Puddy]: “Mmm. This food is fantastic, Peggy: And what a pretty radish rose, huh?”
Kramer: “Well, thank you.”
Elaine: “Here's to Peggy, on her first week of being germ-free, free.”
[all four make toast]
Kramer: “Yeah. And here's to David Puddy for helping me install a much needed and much appreciated garbage disposal in my bathtub.”
[all four make another toast]
Peggy: “You have a garbage disposal in your bathtub?”
Kramer: “Oh, yeah, and I use it all the time. Yeah, I made this whole meal in there.”
Elaine: “This food was in the shower with you?”
Kramer: “Mm-hmm. I prepared it as I bathed.”
[Peggy, Elaine, and Puddy all gag and wretch]
Puddy: “Oh, germs. Germs. Germs!”

I'm ahead of the game. By peeing off my porch I use no extra water to flush and I fertilize my lawn as long as I don't saturate one spot and kill the grass. Works great and is a win-win.
(Now if the the neighbors would just quit complaining.) ;-)

After the last hurrican my apartment complex was without water pressure for a week. We had to fill up buckets from the pool to make the toilets work, which was a big hassle.
I decreased my pool-to-toilet trips by simply peeing off my balcony. It was awesome, I felt like a little kid again, except I was a kid with guns awaiting the looters, while drinking warm beer.
I never asked my downstairs neighbors what they felt like, but they were probably a little sad that their plants died from all the uric acid.
