While FR was down, someone on the yahoo group back-up site posted that he/she got a mysterious e-mail (in their personal account) from a “Concerned Liberal” saying that he reported the FR poster to the FBI, CIA, etc., and that FR was a bunch of lunatics, etc.

HEY RUSH, DIDYA HEAR D.C.’S GETTING NEW GULFSTREAMS?

Per RCP:

**Earmark of the Day: “Last year, lawmakers excoriated the CEOs of the Big Three automakers for traveling to Washington, D.C., by private jet to attend a hearing about a possible bailout of their companies. But apparently Congress is not philosophically averse to private air travel: At the end of July, the House approved nearly $200 million for the Air Force to buy three elite Gulfstream jets for ferrying top government officials and Members of Congress,”

From Roll Call:

House Orders Up Three Elite Jets

From the Examiner:

Last year, lawmakers chew the CEOs of the Big Three automakers a new one for traveling by private jet to attend a hearing about a possible bailouts.

.
Our hypocritical Congress is not opposed to luxurious private air travel. The House approved nearly $200 million for the Air Force to buy three cream of the crop Gulfstream jets for use of Members of Congress.

The Air Force had asked for one Gulfstream 550 jet part of an ongoing upgrade of its passenger air service.

The loathsome House Appropriations Committee, at its own initiative, added to the 2010 Defense appropriations bill and dictated that they be assigned to the Washington D.C. They graciously added that military brass and top government official could use them if it didn’t interfere with Congressional plans.

Our politicians claim the version Gulfstream sells to the military is reconfigured for the government with modest accommodations. Another lie, if this was true they’re overpaying for the aircraft. A decked out 550 runs per Aviation Now,

The G550 is a top-of-the-line GV-SP. At $44.75 million, it is a fully equipped airplane with training and maintenance included in the price tag.”

Check out what government calls an austere interior of a typical G550. Ask yourselves: do our overpaid politicians, who can’t even read a bill, deserve billionaire class air travel? The same people who trashed and bankrupted America.

You decide.

Remember the other Pelosi incidents over jets?
Yep, let them seize up folks engines then they’re not approved re: C4C to save an hour of GW in the next ten years... but jets for them.
