Heat is good for humanity

According to the Gospel According to St. Al, global warming will lead to hell on earth: more droughts, floods and wildfires; receding glaciers and ice caps and rising ocean levels; a million extinct species; more frequent and more violent storms; pestilence and starvation; and a runaway greenhouse effect that will turn earth into Venus or hasten the next ice age. (The beauty of the warmists' theory is man-made warming explains everything, even the last decade of cooling.)

However, history is replete with examples irrefutably demonstrating how humans benefit greatly from a warmer climate and suffer during cooler periods. Civilization took root during the Holecene Maximum (9000 to 3000 B.C.), when temperatures were several degrees Celsius warmer and atmospheric carbon dioxide levels were lower than today. The planet was so toasty in the Medieval Warm Period that the Swedes maintained vineyards and the Vikings colonized Greenland, outposts they had to abandon once the Little Ice Age took hold. That period was punctuated by frequent pandemics, widespread famine and declining populations. Just as warmer periods lacked anthropogenic origins, the misery of the Little Ice Age was rooted in decreased solar activity, increased volcanic activity and natural climate cycles.

The end of the Little Ice Age coincided with the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, which among many other things produced unprecedented economic growth, and academic, scientific, medical and technological advances that raised living standards, social conditions and life expectancy across the globe. Obliquely, it also spawned the warmist horde and its narcissistic socialism.

Now researchers have shown natural climate change led to the meteoric rise of the Incan empire in South America. A 100-year drought during the cooling of the 9th and 10th centuries wiped out the natives who preceded the Incas. Then the Medieval Warm Period brought 400 years of warmth beginning in 1150 that gave the Incas more arable land and vast water resources from melting glaciers for irrigation. Crop surpluses freed them to expand their infrastructure and raise their standard of living. By the time the Spanish arrived in 1533, the Incas numbered more than 8 million and their empire stretched almost 3,000 miles, from what now is Ecuador and Colombia to central Chile.

One of the researchers, paleoecologist Alex Chepstow-Lusty of the French Institute of Andean Studies, told an interviewer the Incas "were highly organized and they had a sophisticated (society), but it wouldn't have counted a jot without being underpinned by the warming of the climate."

So warming is not universally pernicious. Humans have an extraordinary capacity for adapting to whatever nature throws at them, but they do better in warmer times. These facts are immutable, even to the warmists' dire dogma or feckless computer models.

Well I wish we would get some of that global warming here in southern michigan. Just guessing but I suspect we’ve had less than a dozen nights over 60 degrees.

That’s right, a bit or warming is not a bad thing for humans. But, I think we’re going into a cooling phase now, though. I hear that will mean a shifting of the grow zones down south by one zone, and also mean a loss of crop production of about 30% over the next decade. So, people might not like the cooling that we’re in right now. :-)

It’s one thing to gripe and complain about these things and disagree with it, but it’s quite *another* to convince your friends and neighbors and relatives and coworkers...

THEREFORE..., it’s also absolutely necessary for people to know the information in the following documentary. If there were simply *one* video that you could see and/or show people you know... this would be the *one*...

The following is an *excellent* video documentary on the so-called “Global Warming” I would recommend it to all FReepers. It’s a very well-made documentary.

“The Great Global Warming Swindle”

If you want to download it, via a BitTorrent site (using a BitTorrent client), you can get it at the following link.
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3635222/The_Great_Global_Warming_Swindle
[this is a high-quality copy, of about a gigabyte in size...]

It’s worth seeing and having for relatives, friends, neighbors and coworkers to see.

Also, see it online here...

[this one is considerably lower quality, is a flash video and viewable online, of course...]

Buy it here...

[this one would be the very highest quality version, on a DVD disk, of several gigabytes in size...]

Also, in split parts on YouTube...

a loss of crop production of about 30% over the next decade. So, people might not like the cooling that we’re in right now.

Thus explaining my dismal tomato crop this year. Lots of rain but unseasonably cool weather.

However, I am over run with cukes.

Yeah, it ties in with the low sunspot activity and is similar to what is referred to as the Dalton Minimum (could be even longer, but that depends, we don’t know yet...)...

Who knows..., it could turn into a Maunder Minimum, and then we would enter a “Little Ice Age”... :-) [no... for *real*...]

Knowing this newspaper I thought this was a good story about the value that comes from Packing Heat.

Thanks for the ping Graybeard. Would love some of that cooling others are posting about. Hotter’n “”H” around here for the past month and a half.

Have to admit though the temp. averages are several degrees less than they were during the 1990’s. Then we averaged between 106-108 deg. Fah., and now between 100-104 deg. Fah during the latter June-July-August Dog Days.
