Different meaning. “Lavandeira” is a Portuguese/Galician word meaning “wash.” Lavender would be “lavanda” in Portuguese-Galician-Spanish.
But I wouldn’t doubt that some of the punks that are hacking conservative sites are a little on the swishy side.
I guess you completely missed my point about the semblance of a connection between the name “Lavender” and homos, and if you’re a homo drama queen who has the great fortune to have the true last name of “Lavandeira”, and you happen to be an extreme and public activist against all things conservative, the finer points of the etymology of your last name is unimportant when the tantalizing possibility of using the apparent sound of it is to your advantage.
It’s sort of like the case of the green eye-shade budget manager who got fired from his job for using the word “niggardly.” It didn’t matter that the word is spelled differently and means something completely unrelated to race. It SOUNDED like the ‘n’ word and his butt was out the door because he was white. He may have even been Portuguese-Galician-Spanish.
Anyway, thanks for the information.
