Almost none lost their seats for supporting amnesty twice, even though 70% - 80% of Americans opposed it.

Amnesty was defeated, wasn't it? The only pols that supported it were in safe seats.

Amnesty was opposed nationwide, and that includes states and congressional districts with long serving senators and reps. The point is Americans did not make their reps position on amnesty a vote deciding issue, and perhaps only one member of Congress lost his seat because of his support for amnesty (Chris Cannon of Utah). And, they'll be back for another amnesty push. If they feared the voters because of the last uproar, they wouldn't try again.

When few pay a price for going against strong public opposition, they will begin to ignore the public. We'll see what happens as opposition to Obamacare continues to grow.
