There have been many threads on FR about nobama's government take over of healthcare.
And there have been posts listing items in the bill with page and line numbers and comments about the item. In some cases the comments are just flat wrong. The bill is a little complicated to read and it's easy to take items context. To verify an item you usually need to read at least the previous and following page to get the correct context.
Use this link to get your own copy of the bill. Become informed. Wrong information is damaging.

The download is about 1.7MB.
Please do not get the wrong idea about this post. I have been, am now and will be 100% AGAINST this bill.
But we can't have reasonable, meaningful discussions about it based on misinformation.
True, the libs will throw it back in our face if our arguments are based on false or mis-stated info.
So...can someone go through the Twittered list (if that’s the one to which you are referring) and debunk any on the list? Thanks.
Absolutely! And they'd prolly feel a shiver go up their leg as they debunked our misinformation :) This is why we need to be well informed about what's in the bill.
I'm not suggesting everyone read the entire thing, OMG that would be sooooo boring. But on the pertinent points, we need to have our stuff together.
Right, like the PUBs did when LIBs were screaming “Bush lied, people died”.
Personally, I prefer the tactics of that guy in Ohio who disrupted the LIB candidate with repeated cries of “Liar”. Facts are great; but remember that you are trying to convince people that have the attention span of a flash bulb. No time for niceties.
The only nicety I’m willing to indulge is to answer where were you when Bush was doing the same thing. Answer: I spoke up; but no one listened.
Thanx!
Wow. Looking at facts. What a concept.
You should do your own research. That's the point.
But here's one quick example: An item in the list says, Pg 59 HC Bill lines 21-24 Govt will have direct access to your bank accounts for electronic funds transfer.
That's pretty chilling, isn't? The Feds tromping all over your bank account whenever they feel like it?
But, see, here's the thing. That interpretation is 100% wrong. Here are the lines from the actual bill:
(C) enable electronic funds transfers, in order to allow automated reconciliation with the related health care payment and remittance advice; This refers to the insurer and the provider (doctor) and has to do with speeding up payment of claims. It has NOTHING to do w/ patients bank accounts. Go to the bill and read pgs 58, 59 and 60.
Thank you thank you thank you.
Some sanity in the discussion.
Setting up EBT for payments does NOT equate to access to your bank account.
In a similar fashion, the govt will NOT counsel the elderly to die early, make private insurance illegal, nor many of the other myths floating around.
It’s OK to oppose the bill, not ok to just make shit up. If you contact your congress critter to oppose this, make sure you are not using myths to make your point. You WILL be ignored, rightly so, otherwise.
Not necessarily so. It forces Obamacare guru's to clarify these "errors", which they will either lie about to cover up what it really means, at which point they can be exposed for trying to deceive the public. Or the public will find out what it really says when they clarify the error. Either way it forces out the truth of the matter.
Oh, c'mon....you are NOT that gullible are you. Remember when they said the "income tax" would never exceed something like 2%???? Of course you don't.....CLUNKER HEALTHCARE, FLUNKY Education, and the CLUNKER SOC SECURITY and POSTAL departments are the examples of what government does over time.
bump
Thank you!
A bunch of intrusive Govt. that I don't particularly like or want.
Thanks for posting.
Pinging the folks who are afraid of what is coming down the road.
Self Reliant/Survivalist Ping List
Dang. Forgot to ping the folks.
Can’t blame this one on AOL.
Ahhh hell, blame AOL :)
