Yes, Fred Nerks, the OBAMA I saw back in the mid-1990’s looked almost EXACTLY like your frowning OBAMA photo you’ve posted here. An OBAMA frown when he was being forced by me to simply say “ALOHA” ...after he had just come in from ALOHA-Land Hawaii.
Our MATSON Auto Lot in the Port of Los Angeles was a most joyful place to work in, as well as for all customers coming through our gates shipping their Autos to Hawaii or picking them up from Hawaii.
With much filming always going on in Hawaii over the decades, we were blessed to share our warm “ALOHA Spirit” with many Hollywood Stars over the years. And they really seemed to enjoy being with us.

Hawaii-50’s JAMES “DANNO” MacARTHUR shortly after his having lived throuh the Vietnam War’s 1968 TET Offensive. A TET Offensive that saw Viet Cong forces come within 2 blocks of the Saigon USO that he was staying while on Vietnam tour. All personally shared with us whie he was at our MATSON Auto Lot.
Magnum P.I.’s Cast members who lovingly had their pictures taken with us MATSON Auto Lot staffers
The Thorn Bird’s RICHARD CHAMBERLAIN, who spent a long time with us joyfully sharing his filming of this most loving of TV Series.

In contrast, the only “Famous” people to come through our Gates to be more negative then OBAMA were 2 very angry men. Angry for their having to wait a bit for the processing their their Auto shipped in from Hawaii. Customers that I sighed a great sigh of releif when they finally left our premises, after my frequently checking in with them during their angry waiting.
Just a couple of weeks later we all saw them both on TV in a Bank of America parking lot shooting up a neighborhood with AK-47’s during their North Hollywood Bank Shootout..!!
