Does it ever occur to you that there may be less crime on the streets if more people took it upon themselves to put a perpetrator out of business from time to time. I hope you, or better, one of your kids is never in a situation and needed help from a bystander and the only people around were those that didn't get involved because it wasn't their business.

Somebody else will hire him, and probably at better pay, since bank tellers are notoriously low-paid. Even in this economy, there are plenty of employers who need the sort of employees who take the initiative to deal with things that need to be dealt with.
