"I feel fine; I'm going to be fine. We caught this early," he said at a news conference in Hartford with his wife, Jackie Clegg Dodd.

Sorry to hear he isn’t well. Too bad he isn’t on Medicare like ALL Americans who aren’t in congress over the age of 65. IF he was in that system then perhaps he wouldn’t be pushing so hard for more of the same
To: ianschwartz
Dodd should lead by example and undergo some kill-yourself-sooner counseling.

I’m glad he feels fine and is going to be fine. The question American’s ask is whether the level of treatment available to him will be available to the American citizenry.

If he had the type of healthcare he’s trying to force down our throats, he’d be dead due to cancer. They wouldn’t have caught it in time since he’d be on the waiting list for a doctor to see him. Such an ass for using his illness as a political tool.

Look, I don’t wish cancer onto anyone, and I hope Mr. Dodd has a full recovery. That said, I also hope he a) shuts the hell up about it and b) adds this to the growing list of reasons that he should retire from public life, the sooner the better. He has done enough damage.

How predictable. Dodd would lead a Wellstone-style memorial on HIMSELF if he could. For that matter, so would Kennedy and the rest. Creepy.

Will he go to Cuba to be treated?

"I feel fine; I'm going to be fine. We caught this early," he said , adding "Because I am part of the elite class, no one told me 'you don't qualify for that test.' Fixed.

Dodd Pushes Health Care Reform At Cancer AnnouncementIn the spirit of "never let a crisis go to waste", Dodd is pushing US toward a healthcare package that he, as a political elite, is automatically exempted from. If it's good enough for us, why isn't it good enough for Senator Prostate Cancer??

Microscopic prostate cancer is much more common than people think. The bottom line is that for him to use this as a political tool is egregious and unethical. Aren't these the same people who were telling the Bush administration not to remind us of 9-11 because it would be wrong to politicize it? I'm sure the timing of this had nothing to do with the fact that over the last few days Dodd’s name has been in the news based on claims that he knew he was getting a sweetheart loan deal.

Too bad he isnt on Medicare like ALL Americans who arent in congress over the age of 65.Does his cancer mean that he now qualifies as what Obama has described as "useless eaters and a waste of medical resources"??
