Pullen, an anti-illegal immigration activist before becoming chairman of the state GOP, also said he is backing Sen. John McCain for re-election, despite the fact that he and McCain have had their differences over the immigration issue.

“John McCain said he supports the Republican Party’s platform on immigration. You know, that’s good enough for me, since I wrote it,” Pullen said.

“His basic position is the right position,” Pullen said. “That works for me.”

And just what is the Republican Party's platform on immigration? Does this Arizona state chairman know that McCain also supports cap and trade? And who knows what else McCain might decide to stab the party in the back over.

Someone other than Chris Simcox needs to oppose McCain in the Republican primary. These single issue candidates seldom do well. Still hoping for J. D. Hayworth.

I agree about J. D. Hayworth.

I think the real question is "Why is the head of the state party endorsing anyone in the primary?". The whole purpose of the primary election is to determine who the VOTERS want.

We are not Democrats, and don't like having someone choose our candidates for us. Oops, I guess the Dems did pick McCain for us last time......our bad!
