Just got word in that the Democrats seem to have overcome their so-called Blue Dog problem at least long enough to vote down any chance of stripping the public option from the Democrat sponsored Obamacare version of healthcare reform currently roiling the House of Reps.
U.S. Rep. Doctor Mike Burgess (R, Texas) tried to introduce an amendment that would strip the House bill of the public option. Burgess worries about the regressive price controls and rationing as well as the pressure that the public option would put on the medical and insurance industries that would, in the end, force millions of Americans to lose their current medical care plans -- something President Obama keeps falsely claiming wont happen.
So, as so many have said, dont put your faith in the Blue Dogs to save us. They are still Democrats, after all...

Hooray for Mike Burgess for trying.
I wonder if this health care bill will include everybody going to a shrink.
Mental health care is expensive, and everybody loves to yak it up with a psyciatrist, and plus...drugs!
Oh my god.

There is no such thing as a moderate democrat - they're all radicals.
On the other hand, if voting with the democrat party line 50% of the time defines 'moderate' then there are plenty of moderate republicans.

‘Don’t ever trust a Democrat.’
BS.
I always know what a Dem will do: Bigger Gov’t, less freedom, spend money.
The mystery is what a Republican do. That’s always the problem.

This country is INDEED being governed by the stupidest people in, maybe, the history of the world. And voted in by the stupidest people in, maybe, the history of the world.
The fact that Al Franken is a Senator is exhibit #1 supporting my statement.

There are no Blue Dogs. There are Democrats who lie to liberals, and there are Democrats who lie to conservatives.
100% of them are liars to the core. If you forget that, you get burned.

Yep, they had to give Obama a win before the session closed so I guess that’s it. Doesn’t mean the issue is closed out after they return with an earful or two from their constituents.

Somehow I think this inclusion may break the bill. Politically, this decision is much like a kiss of death.

Party line vote. Even if they can ram this “federally-funded qualified health benefits plan” through the House, it will not pass the Senate. They need 60 votes there, and we can likely get at least a few Dems to vote against.

this is a deceiving article. They haven't voted on the bill. Just on the public option in committee. (this is still bad.) These ratbastards will can earfuls from their constituents.
