The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 28% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-nine percent (39%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11 (see trends).
Yesterday, the President hosted Cambridge police Sgt. James Crowley and Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., for a beer on the White House lawn. Thirty percent (30%) of voters nationwide give the President good or excellent marks for his handling of the situation. A Rasmussen video report notes that 62% of Americans believe race relations in the nation are improving. This is one aspect of race relations where white and black voters generally agree.
Consumer and investor confidence have both improved dramatically over the past week. Consumer confidence is now at its highest level since mid-June and investor confidence is at the highest level since July 2.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter.
Overall, 48% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That is the lowest level of total approval yet recorded for this President. Fifty-one percent (51%) now disapprove. A plurality of voters now believe the President views American society as unfair and discriminatory.

“The trend is your friend!”
Likely AP Headline:”President’s approval rating begins to rise!”
He was negatory 12 yeaterday. So his beer summit made idiots happy I guess.
I;m sure the NYT will headline this as “Beer Summit raises Obama standing in the polls”
I would like to see the percentage of Americans that view 0bama as "unfair and discriminatory." That question, however, will never be polled.
I was really hoping for a -13 on a Friday. The irony would have been simply delicious. Of course -11 is OK but it tells us that we need to work harder. We need to get to -15 and then on to -20. That’s the goal.
One or two point fluctuations are just statistical noise.
Watch the trend. He's steadily going down, week after week.
True and thanks for not reporting me to the spell check police!
I’ll drink to THAT.
The democratic commie elitists all have drivers.
surely due to his choice of Bud over some prissy, elitist Euro beer...
Just like Rev. Wright. McCain was an idiot not to explain this in the campaign.
The 0bama ratings sink even as the tides mysteriously rise...

“...I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow...” — Barack 0bama/Soetoro/MalcolmXI
Any way to get the negative section in red for even better emphasis?
Man, you are Jesse Jackson's dream-come-true! Thanks for selling us all out!
