President Barack Obama hoisted a beer with a white policeman and a black professor Thursday evening, aiming to cool a dispute between the pair that ignited a national debate and threatened to damage his reputation as a politician whose appeal transcends race.
Speaking in the Oval Office earlier Thursday, Mr. Obama said he was "fascinated with the fascination about this evening," calling the meeting "so hyped and so symbolic."
..The White House billed the meeting as a "teachable moment" occasioned by the July 16 arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. by Cambridge police Sgt. James Crowley after a confrontation between the two men.

That’s a good description for.....

This was truly silly. The cop and professor showed up and I hope they had a nice time, but there is nothing newsworthy about it. It’s as if Obama & CO were trying to divert our attention from more pressing matters, like the attempted takeover of medical care in the U.S.
Is that code for "KISS MY COP A$$"?

No surprise that 'Teachable Moment' comes from Obama's ideological parents, the 1960s Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble.
Gates reacted as any liberal thinks he should be able to act with a police officer. The officer reacted as any sane person will tell you a police officer SHOULD react in such moments.
And in order to get his pal out of a moment where he acted like a Harvard snob moron, and himself out of a moment where he opened his mouth and inserted his foot, Obama creates a "teachable moment" not for Gates, not for himself--the two who need to have learned something from all this--but for EVERYONE ELSE.
Those of us who understand what this is about were told we need to learn something by the only two people who actually need to learn something.
That is why this whole photo op was so ridiculous, and why Obama's comment about everyone's fascination with a photo op HE created, is so insincere.
Just who is teaching whom??
The racist professor & BO are the ones in need of learning.

Obama let his bias and underlying feelings be exposed with that statement.
In truth, underneath the sheen, and the thin venier...behind the TOTUS, Obama is just like Gates, Wright, Ayers, etc.
And, IMHO, that is the most revealing thing about the issue with Gates. He is so clearly another person and instance of a pattern that fits Obama's other "close friends".
Racist, hate filled, angry, people who detest traditional America and the free market and whose seething hatred is only just below the surface...and in some cases always out in the open. Frank Davis, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Jeremiah Wright, Henry Louis Gates, even his own wife, Michelle (by her own admission)...and the list goes on and on.
There is a clear pattern here that the MSM not only knows, but refuses to report. And that is because most of them share this hatred.
Obama and all those pushing his radical agenda are abject marxist ideologues. Their "fundamental; change" is nothing more than a destruction of the American free market and fundamental republican principle.
