After a federal judge stopped irrigation in a large section of the San Joaquin Valley, thousands are out of work and the farmers will likely go broke. I have wondered if the plan is for the government to take over the land, establish government farms to "feed the hungry" and provide jobs to the unemployed. After all, the federal judge could reverse his/her decision and allow water from the Sacramento River to again be diverted for irrigation.
I bet that would work as well as it did in the Soviet Union.
