"Dr. John Holdren as Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology"

"Dr. Holdren’s experience in academia and administration may be adequate"

I met the man, albeit 30 years ago, when I applied to and was admitted to his graduate program at Berkeley.

In truth, he is not a freak. He's a brilliant writer but a committed leftist. Back then he was a scientist but he was not making his career doing real science, but pseudoscience regarding energy policy. Just another young academic trying to make a name for himself.

That said, he's dangerous. Very dangerous. He's one of those leftists who believes that we Americans should surrender our sovereignty to the United Nations and submit to a world tax. That tax would come from -- you guessed it -- the cap and trade revenues that the Obama Administration wants to subject us to.

Is he a murderous b-stard? Nah. Actually a decent guy. But back in the 1970s you could get away with talking like that. Don't forget -- it was during the 1970s that the Red Chinese promulgated their "one-child" policy to nary a complaint from the world; it was also the same time that (future Justice) Ruth Bader Ginsburg was musing out loud that Roe v Wade would achieve population control and the elimination of the "unfit." Basically, these lefties (Holdren, Ginsburg, and the Ehrichs) were still endorsing the standard -- albeit murderous -- beliefs of the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger.

By the way, Holdren was grilled mercilessly during his confirmation hearings about that book by Senator Vitter of Louisiana earlier this year. He avowed that the Government has no business dictating policy regarding population and completely disavowed the positions taken by that book. Check out this website:

Incidentally, in case you're wondering, I did not join his program at Berkeley. Went somewhere else.
