The White House defended the unusual move as a way to avoid conflicts of interest.

What a load of hooey. It is more likely to be a conflict of interest if a business person picks up the lunch of an elected official, not the other way around. This is just Obama grandstanding showing how tough he is on all the mean, greedy CEO types.

So did he tell Skip Gates and Officer Crowley to BYOB?
