The original Soloman's Temple was not rebuilt. The Temple built after the return from Babylon has never been considered as the continuation of the First Temple. It has always been called the Second Temple.

Herod built another temple but since religious ceremonies were never interrupted, his was considered as a continuation of the Second Temple. That is my understanding as what the people are saying.

you can try to reword it all you want, the ‘second’ temple was a rebuilt Solomon’s temple. It had the same foundation and walls as the first

Herod’s temple was new from the ground up
