President Barack Obama does not expect his "beer summit" will be a mediation session for the black professor and the white policeman who arrested him to work out their differences, the White House said Thursday.
Obama invited Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Cambridge, Mass., police Sgt. James Crowley to join him for a beer in hopes of quieting the furor over the president's comment that in taking Gates into custody police had "acted stupidly."
Gibbs told reporters that none of the three planned to say anything about their meeting when reporters are allowed to join them Thursday evening during a brief photo opportunity.
"This is not an after action report," Gibbs said, adding that the White House "is not here to mediate any apologies."

What did I read yesterday that Gates is half Irish himself,,,isnt this sort of the pot calling the kettle black? This whole thing was an orchestrated event for Barry Soreto’s enjoyment. Every time he tries to cram something down the throats of the congress, an event like this happens. I’m sure that there wont be any trail leading back to him from Jackson.

Let me help you with that. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. is the racist. He has been and always will be a racist. He’s one of the people who keep hate alive in the USA. This is no peace mission on Obma’s part, it is a photo op. No opinions will be changed even if they had a case of beer between them.
Crowley is reported to bringing his lawyer and his union rep. Smart man.
Crowley voted for Obama. It makes me laugh how everyone is sticking up for him. Crowley is probably going to be starstruck. Why would this police officer vote for Obama???
