The Cloward/Piven Strategy of Economic Recovery
American Thinker ^ | February 7th | Nancy Coppock

Posted on 07/30/2009 3:08:46 AM PDT by Halfmanhalfamazing

The Cloward/Piven Strategy is another method employed by the radical Left to create and manage crisis. This strategy explains Rahm Emanuel's ominous statement, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste."

The Cloward/Piven Strategy is named after Columbia University sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. Their goal is to overthrow capitalism by overwhelming the government bureaucracy with entitlement demands. The created crisis provides the impetus to bring about radical political change.

According to Discover the Networks.org:

Rather than placating the poor with government hand-outs, wrote Cloward and Piven, activists should work to sabotage and destroy the welfare system; the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation... [Emphasis added.]

Making an already weak economy even worse is the intent of the Cloward/Piven Strategy. It is imperative that we view the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan's spending on items like food stamps, jobless benefits, and health care through this end goal. This strategy explains why the Democrat plan to "stimulate" the economy involves massive deficit spending projects. It includes billions for ACORN and its subgroups such as SHOP and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Expanding the S-Chip Program through deficit spending in a supposed effort to "save the children" only makes a faltering economy worse.

If Congress were to allow a robust economy, parents would be able to provide for their children themselves by earning and keeping more of their own money. Democrats, quick to not waste a crisis, would consider that a lost opportunity.

Obama is following this plan perfectly. His mission to destroy Freedom and Capitalism seems to be totally successful so far. The Communists have been years and years to get to this point.

Less clear is what takes capitalism’s place.

I mean really.

The lefties seem to assume the I and everyone else will happily toil for them so their revenue streams are at the same levels and they get to distribute the wealth to theie worthies.

Not gonna happen. Never does.

They never seem to take us into account.

These liberals get all locked up in washington up there where there’s so much love for them in the media, and they start to think it’ll all go according to plan.

I doubt they thought they’d find this much resistance to the healthcare plan. Or cap and tax. None of this was according to plan.

The one thing these characters never seem to resolve is this:

If everyone is on gov’t assistance, who produces the food?
The electricity. Who fixes the roads and responds to crime. Who does the banking?

Why would anyone bother going to work if there weren’t a financial motive to do so?

It’s like the old line from the Soviet Union:

“We pretend to work and they pretend to pay us.”

And Glenn Beck says ‘there’s no difference between Republicans and Democrats’ as he wails under Democrat rule

The next step is to have the productive work at the end of the barrel of a gun.

Need I remind you that Bush started a lot of this crap rolling (Medicare Rx, TARP, “I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system”)?

These lefties assume what takes capitalism's place is Marxism or something. Too many of us are too heavily aremd for that! They have a brilliant plan to break the system but then their plan stops abruptly. What if what takes the place of what we have now (which is a very watered down "capitalism lite" which they have corrupted with social programs and social justice for over 60 years), what if what takes it's place is PURE capitalism? They may be slitting their own throats. All they know is how to wreck the bus they don't know a damn thing about driving it or fixing it.

One must remember how the Liberals see the World. They see wall to wall concrete and a World where all people are deeply dependent on them for food, housing and the ability to live.

They forget that there is a more powerful World out there where the rural people control the food, raw materials and the means of producing them.

If it comes down to it, we could halt all food production in mere days, shut down all power to large population centers and disable all roads leading out of their mass, rat infested urban cesspools, they call cities.

It may be true that they can control the urban population for a while, but that aspect will wind up being their own self defeating fate.

Us country folk can survive and will beat them like a Michael Vick Pit Bull; If they make the grave mistake of getting us riled up, that is. And I might add, they are well on their way at that!

Until capitalism is destroyed or brought under the control of socialist idiotic morons, there is no economic recovery under the Cloward/Piven Strategy. The Cloward/Piven Strategy deals with the creation of a socialistic welfare state.

Why wait until that time comes? I doubt that you can get people to follow your line of thinking. We can't get people out and away from their computers and TV's long enough for a protest. I have mentioned work stoppages and boycotts, all to be ridiculed because it might take away too much from their comforts.

I am afraid there just won't be enough people to care about their plight and we, as a people go down without a whimper.

Less clear is what takes capitalism’s place. I mean really

Guys with guns, walking around in the street, intimidating people. Rahm Emanuel and Bill Ayers in a back room, making death lists. Firing squads.

You've read history, and you have to ask?

Yup. The Civil War allowed Abraham Lincoln to change our form of Government (although our civics textbooks have never admitted it, because then they'd have to deal with the fact that we had a dictator for four years).

I'm migrating toward the POV that the Civil War was Lincoln's fundamental "secret platform", his way of legally doing an end-run on the Constitution, to strip the Southerners of their rights "legally".

Indeed i have read history.

We know coerced labor is not very productive labor.

Even the Chinese figured that one out.

Got to remember that the civics books treated Lincoln in a kinder light because of the viewpoint that he saved the union, that is why.

I am afraid there just won't be enough people to care about their plight and we, as a people go down without a whimper.

One day in the near future we may face an armed, well funded, civilian corp (ACORN with arms) marching up and down our streets, both urban and rural....

Our responsibility is to be prepared and organized....or suffer a fate worse than death....

Most Americans never saw the community organizers coming. The Wayne Radke's operated under the radar and now no longer fear the light of day...they operate boldly in the open with the nod, wink, and support of the current regime.
