Apparently, MSNBC's Chris Matthews could not wait for the audio(courtesy Real Clear Politics) release of the 911 call made by Harvard employee Lucia Whalen. If he did, he would have discovered she never inserted the race of the individuals she was describing during her conversation with the 911 dispatcher, while she reported what she thought was a burglary in progress. Her call led to the arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates. However, Mr. Matthews and his guest Michael Eric Dyson decided to attack Ms. Whalen instead on a July 21st Hardball segment. Below is a transcript:

moral of the story from the media points of view. No good deed shall go unpunished
who here knows their neighbors, raise their hands?
Have you no shame, Mr. Matthews? Anyone who makes Obama shows his real colors is going to be destroyed. This poor woman is suffering fortrying to protect Gates. If Gates were not a POS he would be defending this woman.
From the Freepers’ POV, no good deed should be unrecognized.
Matthews just tries to kiss up to his guests. I hope it really comes back to trickle down his leg.
So, Chrissy was biased and didn’t have all the facts, but................
I know who lives around me but I don’t really KNOW them. If I saw someone trying to force their way into their houses, I might also call the police. I probably would recognize my neighbors though. Maybe not their kids...
He is interesting because he sort of called a MSNBC liberal on his show for calling Glenn Beck and Rush racists for calling Obama a racist. He asked her if she really believes that like she was crazy. He throws me from time to time.
If no one had called this in and it had actually been a break-in. Chrissy would be pissing and moaning about how the neighborhood failed to protect one of their own, because he was black.
Keep watching this story. IF Chrissy Mathews was a man he would admit he made a mistake and apologize to the lady for his idiotic assumption that she knew the identity of her neighbor. My bet that “tingle up my leg listening to 0bama” Mathews will remain Crissy the Wussy.
She wasn’t a neighbor. According to other accounts she works for Harvard Magazine (7 ware st) and happened to be passing by Dr Gate’s residence (17 ware st) at the time the incident occurred.
Matthews and MSNBC need a BIG law suit. Hit them in the pocket, say $5 mil each. That is the only way they will learn.
‘Tingly’ Matthews is a truly pathetic neo-fascist if this is his idea of worthwhile spin regarding the racist Gates’ buffoonish behavior when facing our finest.
This whole incident is an embarrassment to the media. The application of term "racial profiling" to these facts is to say that language has no meaning anymore. This was a call from a citizen who observed a specific set of circumstances (which about 84% of us would identify as suspicious) transpiring at a specific location. She called in that specific location and a very general (one could say hesitant or confused) description of what appeared to be happening. There is nothing remotely like the concept of profiling here - they were not culling suspects from some background population - they were responding to a specific address.
Like a Pavlovian pig, Matthews salivates at the thought of calling any white person(s), “racist”. He’s made a career out of it. But then, so has “Professor” Gates.
Lucia Whalen is SEXIST. She called the suspect a MAN!
