I did a little investigation on Costa Rica. They have a dual system, private insurance for those who can afford it and a public option if you can’t afford private.

Not sure about the quality but seems like it would have to be better than zerocare that encourages death.

Costa Rica has some problems with land laws. If some squatter moves in on your land he can eventually petition the gummint to give him title to that piece. If you are a gringo you can't get the police to move him off. Catch-22. I don't know that I would buy land there. Now maybe move into a cheap hotel and drink Pina Colladas while watching the coffee grow in the mountains where it is 70 degrees all day and night every day...hmmm.

I don't know if I could do it but it could be worth a try. Of course you would have to set up your funds in Switzerland so you only recieved a small amount every couple of days or the local constabulary would probably make a habit of relieving you of your Pina Collada money and you would have to have a provision for a flight out that could only be claimed by you at the airport paid for from Switzerland. Just trying to figure out how to do it is starting to sound like more work than I want to put into it. Of course I have been told I have ADHD. LOL.
