“U.S. District Judge Katharine S. Hayden also ordered defendant Maxwell Owoeye, 24, a native of Nigeria residing in Hackettstown, to pay $896,573 in restitution. Judge Hayden continued Owoeye’s release on a $500,000 secured bond pending his surrender to officials with the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, on a date to be determined by prison authorities.”
Does anyone think it stupid to allow a “native of Nigeria”, who has just been convicted of fraud to be free on bail pending incarceration? I wonder where he got the bond money from? /s

You read my mind. If this guy is still around when it comes time to surrender himself I'll actually start replying to those 700 Nigerian emails in my mailbox.
