That doesn’t change the fact that the perception is that she is a quitter. Remember, perception is reality and idiots decide elections.
That isn't libertarian and if you are so conservative then why are you so eager to follow the media's instructions and stop defending and supporting Palin?
So I guess that makes Kay Bailey a quitter as well? She announced she’s “retiring” from the Senate before her term is up to run for Governor. Undoubtedly, Palin “retired” from the governorship to run for POTUS; she hasn’t said it, but it’s fairly clear that’s the plan.
That's not perception, that's self-fulfilling prophecy. And you're only too happy to oblige to the MSM.
You’re underestimating the stupidity of the American people.
My definition of libertarian is an orignalist interpretation of the Constitution. As far as my ideal Presidential candidate, it would be Tom Tancredo. That’s not very Libertarian. I’ll admit that I care more about economic policy than I do social policy, but I’m still right of center on social policy. I’m no fan of Giulliani or Romney, but I believe they would have nominated people in the mold of Roberts or Alito to the Supreme Court. I’m sure they wouldn’t have nominated someone like Sotomayor. Admittedly, I call myself a libertarian in front of certain people to sound more intelligent. People like Bush, Huckabee, etc. have made it harder to call oneself a conservative.
You obviously have no faith in the American people.
Since you lean libertarian, how many ordinary people flocked to Ron Paul's presidential campaign? Remember the throngs of people that showed up at his rallies?
People get inspired by leaders who tell it like it is, and that's what Palin is doing.
Sarah has two years to make her case to the American people. If she stumps for Congressional candidates in 2010, and they’re elected, they’ll be grateful to her in return, if she runs in 2012. She has a good message, and if she can take it to the people over the heads of the MSM, I think she’ll do just fine.
Been fighting the Slick Willardbots a LOT longer than that, and that cancer is STILL here (roughly 3 straight years), even after JimRob’s declaration against their idol. The Rudybots were never as bad, and I only remember them being here for a very short time by comparison. I kept wondering and still do why they were so swiftly removed, while these other Slick Willardbot cretins haven’t been banned en masse, even as they have spammed this website beyond belief, attacked members in good standing in a slanderous and vicious manner, and spawned thousands of worship threads and hundreds of thousands of bandwith wasting trolling posts.
“Her supporters know why she resigned “
Great now try convincing the squishy middle for her reasoning. Again her OPPOSITION is going to label her a quitter and it will probably stick. Did i say her supporters are going to label her a quitter? Nope. Try reading it may help you understand what i was saying.
“So I guess that makes Kay Bailey a quitter as well? She announced shes retiring from the Senate before her term is up to run for Governor.”
Apples and oranges. Bailey announced she quit to run for higher office, although I disagree with doing this it is a time honored tradition and probably more honorable than running while taking a paycheck and not doing the work you were lectd to do.
“Undoubtedly, Palin retired from the governorship to run for POTUS; she hasnt said it, but its fairly clear thats the plan.”
Assumes facts not in evidence and contrary to the reasons she listed in her speech. She never said she was quitting to run for Prez. She may decide to do that at a later date but that won’t change the fact she did not declare this as the primary reason for abandoning her post.
BTW - Anyone who uses the phrase “fairly clear” in relation to what Palin has said she will do or what she possibly may do in the future, is only wishful thinking.
The current two party monopoly is the result of a majority thinking that way. Enjoying the results so far?

Do you have an example of a multiple party system anywhere in the world that has done better? I’m not being snarky — I really am interested if you know of one.
My picture of multiple party systems is proportional representation in parliaments of Europe — so France, Italy, Germany and the like. Not inspiring examples if you love freedom.
And you’ve found the current two party monopoly to be conducive to freedom?

Well, yes, I think it may have been. I’m putting it conditionally, but our citizens have been free, or more free, than any other nation I know of in the modern world with our two party tradition and system.
By the way, two competitors are not a monopoly! They are a duopoly which does have different characteristics than a monopoly.
When you vote for Rhinos that have socialist leanings you are getting the same as Obama only at a slower speed.
I believe that it is more dangerous that way. I am beginning to think that having Obama as president may not have all been bad. It woke up a lot of people very quickly. With the rhinos that the party would have continued to put forward with a McCain win socialism would have been spoon-fed to us in little increments and we would have gotten used to it.
