You're lying, Zevon! Rush Limbaugh never "supported" Romney, and you know it. He said very carefully worded things about Romney that Romney fans have interpreted as "support" because it suits their egos, but it is absolutely FALSE to claim that Rush "supported" or "endorsed" him. Indeed, Rush has been and always was been prudently and notably mum on Romney's
politics, and the cagey word choices Rush has used when talking about Romney's
politics makes it pretty clear that Rush is not a big fan of Romney. IIRC, during the primaries he even played clips from Romney's replies during the debates and told his listeners: "Folks, this is
not conservatism."

I heard Rush, too. And my opinion is vastly divergent from yours. Yes, it’s true that he never endorsed any candidate, but it was obvious that Romney was his preferred one. And McCain didn’t sit well with him at all.
