Here's the video response from former Congressman Matt Salmon, President of the Electronic Cigarette Association.

Salmon asks the question "Why did the FDA sit on this report for months when the most important smoking legislation in decades was being debated in Congress"? Good question!

"I’ve personally got five people to quit and switch to ecigs. They’re just loving all the flavors. I’m making my own flavorings now."

I've got a lot of people curious, but no converts yet.

I just ordered some "smoke juice" (I hate that name, sounds like spittoon leavings) with the low PG from Johnson Creek. I like menthol flavor and the juice I've gotten from VaporNine is OK, but I hear the Johnson Creek stuff is better.

I am still enough of a newbie not to yet experiment with my own flavoring, other than mixing a little tobacco pre-mix with my menthol pre-mix.

I must say though, it's taken me a little while to get the hassle-factor out of my vaping. Purchasing the 510, plus the portable e-cig battery charger case and the computer pass-through, were the real keys to making vaping more effortless and reliable. I wasn't even going to consider quitting regular cigarettes until I had that reliability factor in place.

Now it's just getting the flavor and full cartridges issues solved.

Exactly!
They're just ripping the FDA to shreads at the ecig forums lately.

I got the sampler pack from JC just 2 weeks ago. Great stuff. I brought it here to work for the guys to try out.

They have every reason to be upset with the FDA.

BTW, that's a great message board on e cigs. It's the first place I went when I was doing research. The only problem is that it is a subscription service to post.

I found another e cig message board called Vapor Talk that's free. Very cool and very helpful.

My bad. It wasn't e cig forum. There was another one like it that I started to register for and it required a subscription of something like $5 a month -- cheap, but wasn't sure I wanted to do it.

Congrats, Bokababe. Randall got me interested in the e-cig last month. I am now into my second month analog-free.

I got the DSE901 — a few batts, extra atomizers, USB passthrough, and now a new manual-button passthrough which works much better. But I’m tiring of being tied to a PC or battery pack.

Was looking at the Screwdriver or GG, but just got the parts to build my own NicoStick. I can’t wait; hours of reliable DC voltage in the palm of my hand and no more USB cords.

Thanks, Kevao!

And real Congrats go to you — no analogs for two months! That’s great!

Yes, I bought a 901 first, and now I switch off between my 901 and the 510 I bought a few weeks ago. I am more prone to the 510 because of more vapor and it’s also the one that I have the battery case and passthrough for.

The portable battery case/charger was the kicker, because as you said, I was no longer tied to the computer or an outlet — the portable charger/e-cig case charges up to five batteries before it needs to be plugged into an outlet. (Even I can’t vape more than that in 24 hours!) The charger/case also carries an atomizer with cartridge, and has space for 2 extra cartridges. My only gripe is that they could have made it a little bigger —it’s about the exact size of a pack of those skinny Vogue cigaretteds — and given room for an extra atomizer.

The Scewdriver sounds cool, but I am a girl — somehow I just can’t imagine using that contraption in public. On the other hand, if they outlaw e-cigs, I may be emailing you for your build diagram!

Putting a Nicostick together seems relatively easy. Here are the instructions:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/18409-how-build-nicostick.html

You just need to get a few inexpensive parts. The only trick is it requires a little soldering. I already have the parts and will try to put one together in the next week or so.

That’s pretty sweet. I’m hoping someone could figure out how to make a homemade atomizer soon. One that’ll last.

‘Commissioner Hamburg said that some FDA enforcement actions over the past several years “have been hampered by unreasonable delays” and “in some cases, serious violations have gone unaddressed for far too long.” She added that the pathways for enforcement actions “can be too long and arduous when the public’s health is in jeopardy.”’

I signed up for the FDA updates during the Bush administration to find out about possible unsafe food and drugs, but today my email was about criticizing the Bush administration, so I unsubscribed.
