1st. If they clerk messed up on the date, and they do make mistake, you have to think there is a quality control over documents that are so vital.
Hence they come from vital statistics.
2nd. I wonder if they just have a date roller and put any date on a document that suits them and hence the mistake? I doubt it. I have done more than my fair share of business with government around the country and with other businesses and they purchase a new date stamp each year to prevent the mistake like you “experienced”.
3rd. I have to eat dinner now and I am sure when I return there will be other posters pointing out the same as I have and more.
See ya’ in an hour.

The clerk admitted the mistake. The date function was described to me as being part of the machine, which can have the date changed. She had no explanation for WHY I would get one with a 2007 date on it. She confirmed by phone, that it was ordered by my mother in snail mail in Feb of 2000 as I had my wallet stolen in a move from Texas to California leaving me with no identification, it was processed Mar 6th of the same year, 2000.

No, I was told specifically that the date stamper was PART of the printing machine.
Enjoy dinner.
