Many of us had him figured out half way through the first time we heard his cotton candy, hope and change stump speech. That so many fell for it bodes ill for the USA, if many don't get their heads out of their rear ends very soon.
True. If he wasn't such a danger to the country it would be fun to watch Peggy Noonan wake up from her schoolgirl crush on him. Many of the "smart" people thought he was just going to be a left-center president, and that the radicalism of his past associations (those that we've found out about) could be safely ignored. They assumed the Ayers and Wright connections were just the usual election blather from the VRWC.
OTOH, whenever I criticize 0bama, I have to remember that we had McCain running against him. Heck, at least Zero could run a campaign. If McCain had been elected, we would be looking at two things right now. First, the same Marxist agenda would be getting pushed through congress, but the Republicans would have to run against a sitting President of their own party to prevent it from being enacted. McCain could barely manage being civil to conservatives when he needed their votes. What would he be like when he didn't need them?
Second, the Republicans would own this mess. Congress has been Rat since 06 (thanks, Denny Hastert!) but Bush owned the entire economy. Now, the Marxist squad is reduced to squealing "But think about how bad it was when Snowball was here! You don't want Snowball back, do you?" (check Animal Farm for reference, if necessary.)
