LOL if that is a rule, I don’t know about it and about half the people on here violate that rule if it is one. Your BC statement is lame. I am well aware that not everyone is interested but if they aren’t, why do they try to fight with other FReepers that do. I might add, S was the ONLY poster on FR that sided with Gates.
Untrue. There are many here who have a healthy skepticism of police power to arrest you on your own front porch for yelling.
But what else can I expect from you? You need to get over your obsession with me and get a new hobby. And hang around FR a little longer and get a feel for the place before you spout off.
Or one could ask 'Why do the Freepers that do attack the ones that don't?'
Anyway, in answer to your question: At the very least, simply to play Devil's Advocate. That is a very useful thing to the ones with the theory. What you want around you are not people who go 'Yes, Yes, Yes! We agree, we agree, we agree!' All you get with that is a positive feedback loop into oblivion.
If you have a theory or even a screenplay you're trying to pimp out to the studios- you want harsh critics for your ideas so that what survives all the arguments is a robust theory. It's good science. It's good editing/writing. Good science means trying to disprove your own idea, not buttress it. You should be glad for every freeper who tries to point out something in this respect.
I don't think the police should have arrested Gates. And I posted this on several of those threads. So, don't give me this 'He was the only one who sided with Gates...'
