In the line of verbal fire: pro-Palestinian group visits Sderot

I recently had my second opportunity in Sderot to host a group from the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI). EAPPI is a program supported and funded by the Geneva-based World Council of Churches, a major supporter of the anti-Israel divestment campaign.

According to NGO Monitor, EAPPI policies reflect a radically pro-Palestinian agenda, presenting a biased Palestinian narrative and failing to make any mention of Palestinian terror or the human rights of Israelis. In fact, the principal agenda of EAPPI includes the Ecumenical Campaign to End the Illegal Occupation of Palestine.

Such people are immune to logic and reason, so make excellent foils for cruel practical jokes. In this case, with considerable prior preparation with the citizens of Sderot, so as to not cause any discomfort, I would schedule a faux attack on these jackasses.

Real Grand Guignol theater of the macabre, with the fools smack in the middle of it. Begin with a fake rocket attack, and herd them in to a too small “rocket shelter”. Explosions rock the shelter as screams are sirens are heard outside. The guide with them does his best to terrify them, as smoke comes in through a vent.

Through the vent, seemingly half burned bodies lie in the street, as flames replace the smoke. Finally there is a lull and they are ushered through a corridor and have to run to get to their bus. They arrive at their new destination full of stories about the attack, and nobody knows what they are talking about.

One last confederate tells them that it isn’t news, that sort of thing happens in Sderot all the time.

Fake rocket attack? I would have led them on a tour of the Gazan border, and let them get to know those unfortunate palestinians...If hamas didn’t fire rockets at them, they certainly would have kidnapped a few, then these ignoramus’s would have a better understanding...
