I hadn't followed this real closely until the Obama trip to Hawaii, which I found extremely unusual.

Why would you find a trip to Hawaii unusual? Do you ever visit the place where you grew up? Even if you don't believe he was born in Hawaii, it's indisputable he spent much of his childhood there and he visits every year (not to mention, it's a pretty darn good vacation spot. I wish my childhood hometown had beaches that good). Why is that extremely unusual?

The trip I was referring to was the one a few weeks before the Presidential election. The one where he went to see his grandmother since she wasn't doing so well. After the election, when there was some free time, I noticed he didn't go back to see her again.
