The sure sign of a Birther--someone disagrees with their conspiracy theories, and it's "You're not a conservative!"

Disagreement is one thing, but that's not what you are doing. Disagreement would involve a debate on the salient points. What you're doing is insulting your fellow conservatives, assuming you are one, in the most condescending way possible, which is to attempt to marginalize them by labeling them as "Truthers" in the same category of people who think 9/11 was an inside job. That is not disagreement; that is wholesale disrespect toward a lot of good people who just want to see that the Constitution is followed.

What you remind me of is those weak-kneed "conservatives" who are scared to be actual conservatives because that might bring disapproval from the Left. So those kind call themselves things like "compassionate conservatives" so that they can differentiate themselves from those mean old regular conservatives. People like that don't have the guts or the determination to take their beliefs to the full measure, so they take them as far as they can without attracting the ire of their opponents, then stop and hope nobody notices them. They become afraid if any other conservatives try to take things even farther, because then there might be a fight, or even *gasp* some name-calling which might spill onto themselves.

Additionally, equating the desire to see the birth certificate to the 9/11 truthers is highly illogical and is, at best, a ridiculous strawman. Even if you had a genuine intellectual disagreement with the premise, rather than just lacking ideological guts, your approach isn't even worthy of a junior high school debate.
