54% Still Blame Bush for Nation’s Economic Woes
Rasmussen Reports ^ | July 25, 2009 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 07/25/2009 11:33:28 AM PDT by DanZanRyu

Most Americans—54%--still blame President George W. Bush for the nation’s economic woes. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 39% say the policies of President Barack Obama are to blame.

Those top-line figures are unchanged from a month ago. Two months ago, 62% blamed Bush.

By a two-to-one margin, voters trust their own economic judgment more than the President’s. That, too, is little changed over the past month. However, in February, just 49% trusted their own economic judgment more than the president’s.

Fifty-seven percent (57%) of women still blame Bush for the economic problems. That view is shared by 50% of men.

Seventy-nine percent (79%) of Democrats point the finger at Bush while 65% of Republicans say Obama now bears responsibility. Those not affiliated with either major party are more evenly divided—51% blame Bush and 43% say Obama.

Piss off Dems! The blame belongs squarely on the shoulders of Barney Frank, Bill Clinton, and Obama’s Little ACORNS.

We've all been reading about HUGE government expenditures, the government's nationalization of large companies, the coming massively high energy taxes, the move to socialized medicine...

So, where are we going with all this...?

...But there may still be time, if you act quickly enough...

(Please FReepmail if you want on, or off, this list.   I certainly have no desire to increase anyone’s stress-level. Thanks!!!)

I am a conservative ... and I blame Bush (in part), too. He started this bailout mess, and that was after years of outrageous spending.

Flame away.

My brother, who blames everything on Bush is hard pressed to explain the economic woes of Europe but he thinks it could have been Bush’s fault.

The natural cycle of democrats getting the blame for things, even by the MSM, is starting because dems have full control (passing crap like stimulus by themselves )and this is something we longed for over 8 years and are enjoying now.

But that hardly lets republicans off the hook. We had our dream, a republican congress and white house for years and it didnt work out too well. While the Bush/elect McCain or die crowd tried to blame the economy on Obama last fall, it didnt work, and couldnt work. I dont think those not willing to swallow that argument are stupid. Voters had good reason to get fed up with republicans.

As time goes on the voters will blame democrats.

Of course. Not that Obama’s worthless trillion dollar budget...because it does almost nothing to simulate new business or ease the burdens of existing ones...has anything to do with that. Plus, being the wealthy own a majority of the businesses in America, and they have countless employees, why not tax them at historic rates. There’s no such thing as economic discrimnination...unless you’re poor! And just to top it off, why not throw in another trillion for socialized heath care amidst skyrocketing deficits and one of the worst recessions in decades. Sounds like a sound prescription for prosperity. And last but not least, let’s not forget about those politicians who lowerered lending standards so undeserving buyers could take out home loans. That’s another 25 trillion we taxpayers are stuck with. It has to be Bush’s fault.

They should have looked at the man. Heck! They want a Black Man and not a half white man? They should have voted for Rev. Manning. At least he is smart and has sense!

I am not sure it’s relevent now. So what if more people blame Bush. They can blame Bush be opposed to socialize healthcare and reckless spending. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.

Things began to go to hell in a hand basket in 2006, which was under W.’s watch, but it was clearly the doing of the Ds in Congress.

W just didn't do enough to stop them.
